The Valley of the Kings is a monumental rocky desert alley set at the foot of gigantic mountains. Continue to the left bank of the river, the Valley of the Queens, towards the sacred mountains that house the imposing temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. It was carved out of the limestone rock and has been magnificently restored. Then on to the Colossi of Memnon, the last remaining monumental sculptures. Back on board, we sail to Esna and pass through the lock, an experience not to be missed. Arrival in Esna in the late evening. Dinner and overnight on board.

A morning of sailing to the rhythm of the wind as your dahabieh glides silently down the Nile,... more+ giving you a chance to admire the nature and life of the river. Arrive in Edfu in the late morning and visit the Greco-Roman Temple of Horus. The temple was built by the Ptolemies in the great Pharaonic tradition. It is one of the most prestigious in the country, due to its proportions, and certainly one of the best preserved. The main interest of this temple lies in its inscriptions, which have enabled Egyptologists to understand in detail the daily worship of Horus. Return on board for lunch. Sailing continues in the afternoon. Local cooking class on board in the early evening.

Built by Ramses II and originally located on the sacred hills of Meha and Ibshek, the temples were completely dismantled and rebuilt, under the aegis of UNESCO, higher up on a dummy hill overlooking Lake Nasser.
