In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at Roissy CDG airport, assist you with the... see+ formalities and take you to Cairo. On arrival in the early evening, welcome by your local guide and transfer to your 5* hotel. Cairo is a thousand-year-old metropolis that is as vibrant as it is engaging, and you will have the pleasure of discovering or rediscovering it. Check-in and overnight at the Sheraton Hotel or similar 5*.

Few monuments have held as much fascination and mystery as the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, Mykerinos and the Great Sphinx. The Pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty established their dynasty on this plateau. Lunch at the restaurant and in the afternoon visit to the metropolis of Saqqara and the Step Pyramid of Djoser, an architectural masterpiece of the Old Kingdom and Egypt's first stone pyramid. Return to the Sheraton Hotel or similar 5*, at the end of the day, dinner and overnight.

After lunch, you will make your way to the citadel, the work of Saladin and Mehemet Ali. You will discover Cairo's old town and its undeniable charm. After a stroll through the Khan El Khalili souk, return to the hotel at the end of the day for dinner and overnight in Cairo.

This morning, we set off for the Valley of the Kings to discover the tombs of the Pharaohs. We... see+ discover landscapes worthy of an adventure film. The Valley of the Kings is a monumental rocky desert alley set at the foot of gigantic mountains. Continue to the left bank of the river, the Valley of the Queens, towards the sacred mountains that house the imposing temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. It was carved out of the limestone rock and has been magnificently restored. Then on to the Colossi of Memnon, the last remaining monumental sculptures. Back on board, we sail to Esna and pass through the lock, an experience not to be missed. Arrival in Esna in the late evening. Dinner and overnight on board.

A morning of sailing to the rhythm of the wind as your dahabieh glides silently down the Nile,... see+ giving you a chance to admire the nature and life of the river. Arrive in Edfu in the late morning and visit the Greco-Roman Temple of Horus. The temple was built by the Ptolemies in the great Pharaonic tradition. It is one of the most prestigious in the country, due to its proportions, and certainly one of the best preserved. The main interest of this temple lies in its inscriptions, which have enabled Egyptologists to understand in detail the daily worship of Horus. Return on board for lunch. Sailing continues in the afternoon. Local cooking class on board in the early evening.

Sail through superb scenery to Kom Ombo. Visit the Ptolemaic temple of Kom Ombo, a unique temple... see+ dedicated to the worship of two deities. With its Greco-Roman architecture, it is dedicated to Haroëris (Horus the Elder) and Sobek (the crocodile god). In ancient times, the crocodile was a sacred animal, a symbol of fertility whose presence in the Nile heralded floods favourable to harvests. Built in a dream setting, like an acropolis, it dominates a wide bend in the river-god. Continue your journey to Hor Diab, where you will have the experience of bathing in the purest water of the Nile. Dinner and overnight on board.

Arrival at Aswan, a strategic city in more ways than one. Aswan was used to contain Nubian... see+ incursions, as a transit point for caravans from Black Africa and, thanks to its quarries, as a source of granite and basalt for the construction sites of ancient Egypt. Visit the High Dam and take a ride on board the famous ‘feluccas’, then the unfinished obelisk. Visit a Nubian village and the Nile nature reserves. In the early evening, a Sound and Light show at the Temple of Philae, which has been moved to a nearby island. It was saved from the waters by UNESCO after 8 years of truly ‘Pharaonic’ work. This morning, an early departure by bus for a visit to the grandiose site of Abu Simbel. On the... see+ edge of southern Egypt, on the shores of Lake Nasser, discover the temples dedicated to the greatness of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. Built by Ramses II and originally located on the sacred hills of Meha and Ibshek, the temples were completely dismantled and rebuilt, under the aegis of UNESCO, higher up on a dummy hill overlooking Lake Nasser. Return on board for lunch and sail to Esna. Afternoon at leisure to admire the banks of the Nile.

In the morning, visit the temple of Esna, recently renovated in the colours of yesteryear. Return... see+ on board and sail to Luxor. Set off to discover the mythical Temple of Karnak, a group of majestic buildings that make up the largest archaeological site in the world. Built over thousands of years, it is dedicated to the god Amun. 134 columns, a 2km-long avenue of Sphinxes, a lake, monumental statues... everything here shows the excess, the gigantism and above all the Egyptian supremacy of 3,000 years ago. Depart in the early evening for a night-time visit to Luxor Temple, illuminated. Return on board for the evening's Au-Revoir.
