Located in southern Burgundy, Chalon-sur-Saône is at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise wine... more+ region and holds many medieval secrets waiting to be uncovered on a historic city tour. Visit a local market to sample regional specialties, or opt for an excursion to Beaune, a charming walled town in the Cote d’Or vineyards, where you’ll stroll its cobblestone streets and admire the 15th-century Hôtel-Dieu with its distinctive mosaic-tiled roof. Later, enjoy a scenic cruise to Tournus or taste renowned Mâconnais white wines. Alternatively, embark on a guided bike tour from Chalon-sur-Saône to Tournus.

Today you have a choice of a number of excursions as you explore the cities of Tournus and Mâcon.... more+ Let your knowledgeable guide lead you through Tournus and to its magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Saint Philibert. Or choose instead to visit the moated Château de Cormatin, which dates back to the early 17th century and features ornate apartments as well as a beautifully manicured garden. As an alternative, venture to the medieval village of Brancion with its preserved gateway, church, and market hall. Return to the ship and enjoy a scenic cruise to Mâcon, or instead join a guided bike tour from Tournus to Mâcon and meet the ship in the latter. If you chose to cruise, you can later enjoy a tasting of Mâconnais wines.

Built between the 4th and 12th centuries, Cluny Abbey was formerly the world’s largest church and stands as a captivating example of early Romanesque architecture. Return to the ship and head to the Sun Deck to enjoy a light lunch and the passing landscapes on the way to Trévoux. For those traveling by ship, enjoy a tasting of Beaujolais wines while sailing towards your next stop.

Please be advised the ship will be docked in Saint-Jean-de-Losne, approximately a 30-minute walk from the train station. We strongly recommend purchasing one of our transfer options between Dijon and Saint-Jean-de-Losne for guests embarking on our 7-night cruise without a pre-cruise land package.
