Departure after breakfast for a discovery of the site of Giza, the last vestige of the Seven... more+ Wonders of the World. The pyramids of Cheops, Khephren and Mykerinos, originally entirely covered in white limestone, have always aroused fascination and still hold many mysteries today. A World Heritage Site, this thousand-year-old funerary complex is home to the legendary and monumental statue of the Sphinx, a name given by the ancient Greeks for its resemblance to the mythological monster with the head of a woman and the body of a lion. Lunch at the restaurant. Then visit the necropolis of Saqqara and the Step Pyramid of Djoser, an architectural masterpiece of the Old Kingdom and Egypt's first stone pyramid. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Departure after breakfast for a visit to the Great Egyptian Museum*, one of the world's largest and... more+ most impressive museums, built near the Giza plateau and due to open in 2023. The museum houses the world's largest collection of Egyptian antiquities and contains a number of archaeological treasures, including the entire collection from the tomb of Tutankhamun, discovered a century ago. Lunch at the restaurant, followed by a tour of Cairo's old town, a sprawling, bustling city with undeniable charm: in particular, you will visit Saladin's citadel and the Mohamed Ali mosque. After a stroll through the famous Khân-al Khalili souk, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Cairo.
*If the inauguration of the Great Egyptian Museum is postponed, the visit will be made to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which currently houses the collection.

Early in the morning, transfer to Cairo airport and flight to Aswan. Welcome at the airport and... more+ transfer to the port to board your boat. Welcome, refreshments and installation in the cabins. Lunch on board.
Afternoon programme: visit to the majestic Temple of Isis, formerly built on the island of Philae. Built by one of the last Egyptian pharaohs in the 4th century BC, it was completed by the Romans. In the 1970s, it was moved to a neighbouring island after the Aswan Dam was built. Visit the town of Aswan and its famous souk, where you will find a profusion of spices, fabrics and local crafts. Dinner and overnight on board.

Morning departure for Aswan airport and flight to Abu Simbel. Visit the Temple of Ramses II and its... more+ four colossi, a Nubian masterpiece moved under the aegis of UNESCO when the Aswan Dam was built in the 1960s. Next door, the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to Queen Nefertari, the Pharaoh's wife, also boasts six massive statues of the couple on its façade. Return to Aswan and lunch on board your dahabieh. In the afternoon, take a felucca trip on the Nile for a bucolic discovery of the islands, gardens, banks and Nubian villages of this part of the river. At the end of the day, enjoy a tea/coffee break on the terrace overlooking the Nile at the legendary Old Cataract hotel to watch the sun set. Dinner and overnight on board.

Visit the Ptolemaic temple of Kom... more+ Ombo, a unique temple dedicated to the worship of two deities: the falcon-god Haroëris and the crocodile-god Sobek. In ancient Egypt, the crocodile was a sacred animal, a symbol of fertility whose presence in the Nile heralded floods favourable to harvests. Back on board, lunch and a sail along the narrowest part of the Nile, between majestic sandstone hills. This stopover will give you a chance to admire the quarries of Jebel Silsila, whose sandstone blocks were used to build most of Egypt's temples, as well as the Temple of Horemheb, with its stelae carved into the cliff, once the centre of great annual ceremonies linked to the Nile flood. Dedicated to the Theban triad and the Nile gods, the temple's façade opens onto a spectacular gallery of pillars. Dinner and overnight on board in front of the illuminated temple.

Breakfast on board, departure for Denderah to visit the famous temple of Hathor, goddess of love,... more+ music and motherhood. Founded more than 2000 years BC, this temple is one of the best preserved in Egypt and was embellished by many pharaohs, mainly the Ptolemaic dynasty. With its massive stone roof, it is impressive for the quality of its hieroglyphs. The famous Denderah zodiac can be seen here, the original being kept in the Louvre Museum. Return to Luxor for lunch on board.
The afternoon programme includes a visit to the mythical Temple of Karnak, the most imposing religious complex in ancient Egypt. Built over thousands of years, it is dedicated to the god Amun. At the entrance to the temple, 40 ram-headed sphynxes lead you to the great hypostyle hall with its spectacular forest of columns, the largest of all Egyptian temples. Dinner and overnight on board.

After breakfast on board the Dahabieh Isis, departure for the west bank of the Nile to discover the... more+ Theban necropolises of the Valley of the Kings, famous for housing the tombs of Egypt's greatest pharaohs, including that of Tutankhamen, discovered intact in 1922. Depending on the opening/closing days of the tombs, visits to three different tombs are included in the package. The visit to Tutankhamun's tomb is subject to the purchase of a special entrance ticket on site, at an additional cost of around €17 per person. Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, a unique structure built into the rock face of the mountain. Pass in front of the famous Colossi of Memnon, monumental sculptures and the last vestiges of the temple of Amenhotep III. Return on board your dahabieh. Farewell dinner and overnight on board.
