Your journey begins in Bergen, Norway's second largest city and gateway to the fjords. Founded in... more+ 1070, Bergen's architecture is influenced by the Hanseatic League, a thriving 14th-century German trading organisation. If you have time before your ship departs, visit the UNESCO-listed quays of the colourful Bryggen district, now a cobbled artisan quarter. Just across the street is the famous fish market, offering delicious seafood. You can also take the Fløibanen funicular up to the top of Mount Fløyen for a breathtaking view of the city. Ålesund is famous for its superb Art Nouveau architecture and its Atlanterhavsparken, one of Northern Europe's largest seawater aquariums. If you travel with us in spring or winter, you'll spend much of the day exploring this picturesque town. In summer, we'll head to the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord*, passing through some of the most beautiful scenery Norway has to offer. In spring, from April to May*, and in autumn, from September to October, your boat will sail to Hjørundfjord, hidden in the Sunnmøre Alps. A stopover is also planned in the picturesque village of Urke to admire the thousand-year-old farms, the fjord and the lush mountainsides. *Only on trips departing from 2025-26. The last port of the day is Molde. In summer, there may be just enough light to enjoy the incredible view of the 222 mountain peaks across the fjord known as the Molde Panorama. From mid-June to the end of August, the city's streets and gardens are adorned with fragrant roses of every colour, living up to its nickname of ‘City of Roses’.

Founded by Viking chieftain Olav Tryggvason in 997, Trondheim is now Norway's third-largest city, with a mix of historic buildings and a thriving student population. You'll have three hours to explore Trondheim and its highlights, either on your own or on one of our optional excursions. Nidaros Cathedral, nicknamed ‘Our Lady of Norway’ because of its Gothic style, is considered to be the most sacred building in Norway. Close to the cathedral is the Archbishop's Palace, where the jewels of the Norwegian Crown are displayed. Nearby, the city's old bridge, the Gamle Bybro, spans the River Nidelva and marks the entrance to the old Hanseatic quarter of Bakklandet. The district's colourful wooden quays, set on stilts by the river, are now home to trendy restaurants. At the top of Bakklandet is the Kristiansten fortress, offering fine views over the city and the fjord. In the afternoon, the ship heads north-west, passing the ochre lighthouse of Kjeungskjær, islets and rocky reefs. After that, we'll head for the charming town of Rørvik.

We cross the Arctic Circle early in the morning to begin our discovery of the Norwegian Arctic.... more+ This is marked by a traditional ceremony that's sure to wake you up! Above the Arctic Circle, the sun is visible 24 hours a day in summer, while in winter your chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis increase considerably. At 10 o'clock we'll be calling at Ørnes, close to Norway's second largest glacier, Svartisen. The jetty here is famous for its Love Bank, where lovers declare their love by attaching a padlock. We then sail to Bodø, Northern Norway's second largest city, dominated by the peaks of the Børvass mountains. You can admire the fabulous street art or take an optional boat trip to the Saltstraumen, the world's most powerful maelstrom. This afternoon, the ship will enter the Lofoten archipelago. The 1,000-metre-high Lofoten Wall is an impressive sight on the horizon, as if it were there to greet us. The port of Stamsund is home to one of the largest fishing fleets on the islands. Activity is particularly intense from January to April, when Arctic cod, known locally as skrei, swim north from the Barents Sea to Vestfjord to spawn. As evening falls, the sight of rows of traditional fishing huts on stilts, known as rorbus, will mark your arrival in the pretty port of Svolvær, the main town on the Lofoten Islands.

We dock in Harstad just after 7.00am, giving you the chance to take an early morning stroll around... more+ the town while it's still peaceful. The ship will then continue on to Finnsnes, which connects to the beautiful island of Senja via the impressive Gisund Bridge. Keep an eye out for the various seabirds, including puffins, of which there are several colonies nearby. You may also spot whales in these waters, especially in winter. We then head to Tromsø, the historic capital of Arctic exploration, where you have four hours to explore the town or take an optional excursion. You'll find Polaria, the world's most northerly aquarium, right on the waterfront. And there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from in the city centre, including Mack's Brewery and the Ølhallen pub, a popular local café. And don't forget the trendy cafés serving delicious cinnamon rolls and where baristas compete to create innovative works of coffee art. On the other side of the fjord, from where the ship is moored, you should be able to see the iconic Arctic Cathedral with its magnificent mosaic of stained glass windows. We leave Tromsø in the early evening and head north towards the trading post of Skjervøy, founded in 1622. On the way, we pass the Lyngen Alps, towering majestically above the sea.

The ship will reach the town of Hammerfest on the island of Kvaløya early in the morning. In... more+ summer, the island is home to herds of reindeer, which migrate here in their thousands. You'll know we've arrived in Havøysund when you see the wind turbines at the famous Havøyglaven wind farm, which produces enough electricity to power 6,000 local homes. We arrive in Honningsvåg, the gateway to the North Cape, mid-morning. A monument in the shape of a globe marks the northernmost point of continental Europe. The optional excursion to the spectacular promontory is very popular, so early booking is recommended. Near the entrance to the village of Kjøllefjord, look out for Finnkirka, an impressive building-shaped rock formation. This ancient sacrificial site was once used by the Sámi natives. You can take an optional excursion to meet local Sámi, learn about their life as reindeer herders and listen to Joik folk songs. We reach Mehamn, our most northerly port of call, in the evening. If you visit in February and March, you'll be able to see tonnes of cod drying in the open air on wooden racks called hjell, mainly for export. The ship then sets sail for Berlevåg. On the way, we pass the great Slettnes lighthouse, the most northerly continental lighthouse in the world.

The area around Vadsø is one of the most beautiful and popular birdwatching areas in the Arctic, as it lies directly on the migratory route of birds from the east. Keep an eye out for mantled crows and eagles. Once we reach Kirkenes after breakfast, you'll have travelled even further east than St Petersburg and Istanbul. You can choose from a number of optional excursions to explore the town. Kirkenes is where your cruise along the Norwegian coast changes direction and the ship heads south. Many of the places we visited at night will now be visible during the day. Back in Vardø, you can visit the solemn Witches' Memorial and the star-shaped Vardøhus fortress, built in 1737. The most northerly fortification in existence, it still belongs to the army. We'll return to the bustling little port of Båtsfjord, then make our way to Berlevåg in the late evening, crossing the path of the ship sailing north.

In the early afternoon, you'll spend some time in Hammerfest, once the most northerly town in the world before Longyearbyen in Spitsbergen claimed the title. See the UNESCO-listed Meridian Column, buy souvenirs at the Polar Bear Society, or take the path behind the town to the viewpoint at Mount Salen. We'll continue sailing along the Norwegian coastline south to Øksfjord, then on to Skjervøy, surrounded by mountain peaks. We'll dock in this vital fishing port since 1896. If you visit in winter, you may catch a glimpse of orcas and humpback whales, which congregate here to feed on herring. On the way to Tromsø, you can also see the Lyngen Alps, home to some of Norway's highest peaks. You'll dock in Tromsø just before midnight. During the summer months, it's possible to stroll through the still-bustling city in daylight 24 hours a day.

Today, you'll explore the Lofoten and Vesterålen archipelagos, the real highlights of our... more+ panoramic itinerary in Norway. After Finnsnes, early in the morning the ship will call at Harstad, where on the peninsula stands the church of Trondenes, the most northerly whitewashed medieval stone church in the world. Next comes our smallest port of call, Risøyhamn, then Sortland, where the landscape slowly changes from rolling hills to 1,000-metre-high mountains. Sailing through the Raftsund Strait, the captain can choose to take the ship into the narrow Trollfjord. The mountain walls will seem so close you'll think you can brush against them! To leave the fjord, the ship will have to rotate 180 degrees on the spot, then leave again. Don't forget to keep an eye out for eagles here too. We arrive in Svolvær in the evening. The huge mountain overlooking the town is called the Svolvær goat because of its supposed resemblance. We'll let you decide for yourself! The ship will then head for Stamsund, passing the giant granite cliffs of the Lofoten Wall.

Commemorate the moment with a traditional spoonful of good old cod liver oil! We'll stop briefly in Nesna before sailing on to Sandnessjøen, the gateway to the magnificent Helgeland coastline. Admire the breathtaking scenery of the Seven Sisters mountain range, whose peaks reach heights of 1,100 metres. The story goes that seven beautiful troll princesses, fleeing an unwanted suitor, were surprised by the sunrise, which transformed them into the seven magnificent mountains you see today. And you won't want to miss Torghatten mountain, with its distinctive hole. A local legend explains why and how this hole in the mountain came to be. Ask your Coastal Expert to tell you! We'll reach Brønnøysund by mid-afternoon. Explore the bustling marina as you stroll along the Havnegata. At the heart of the town is Brønnøy Church: a neo-Gothic stone church dating from 1870. Our last stop of the day is the friendly fishing port of Rørvik, in the picturesque archipelago of Vikna.

Spend the morning in Trondheim, then sail past beautiful island scenery and some of Norway's... more+ smallest communities before discovering Kristiansund and Molde. Stroll through Trondheim in the early morning as the city begins to wake up. Visit the sacred Nidaros Cathedral, the burial place of Saint Olav. Then walk over to the Gamle Bybro bridge to take a few photos on the River Nidelva. Treat yourself to a good cup of coffee and a Nordic pastry in one of the many chic cafés in the Bakklandet district, then climb up to Kristiansten fortress for a breathtaking view of Norway's third-largest city. We dock in Kristiansund harbour in the late afternoon. The town stretches across three islands and is known as the "Bacalao capital of Norway" for the salted cod that dries on the surrounding cliffs, known as klippfisk in Norwegian. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the old town and visit the bustling port. You can also climb up to the old watchtower at the Varden lookout point to admire a beautiful panorama. Molde is the penultimate port of the day, from where you can see the peaks of the Romsdal Alps. Nicknamed "The City of Roses", Molde is expected to be in bloom between mid-June and the end of August.

Our journey together along the Norwegian coast, at least for this time, will come to an end later... more+ today. The night before, we'll be stopping off in Ålesund and Torvik. You'll have the chance to catch a glimpse of Nordfjord, beneath the enormous Jostedal glacier, the largest in continental Europe. The ship will then dock in Florø in the morning, where you can explore the port and marina. As you leave Florø, you'll catch a glimpse of the Stabben lighthouse, a popular subject for photographers. You can also enjoy breathtaking views as we cross the mouth of the Sognefjord, the longest and widest fjord in Norway. To reach our final port in the afternoon, the ship will weave its way through the last islands and reefs on our Norwegian coastal itinerary, sailing down the Hjeltefjord to Bergen. Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to the Captain, the crew and your fellow passengers. But your journey doesn't have to end after disembarkation. We offer a tour of Bergen, as well as a choice of optional post-trip programmes to add to your cruise, including a visit to the Sognefjord by train or a tour of Oslo.

An architectural gem integrated into the shoreline, the aquarium offers an authentic experience where you can get up close and personal with some of the marine species that inhabit the Norwegian coast. Visit the open-air pool to observe the friendly penguins. Taste catfish croquettes at the café overlooking the ocean.

The North Cape plateau stretches 307 meters above the Arctic Ocean. Welcome to Europe's northernmost point. Unlike previous passengers who had to climb to the top of the cliff, a bus from Honningsvåg will take you to your destination. You'll have plenty of... more+ time to stroll around the plateau and take photos in front of the monumental globe.
Enjoy a generous breakfast buffet in the North Cape Hall as you gaze out over the Barents Sea, before experiencing the four seasons of the North Cape through a panoramic film. In the North Cape Hall, inside the cliff, you can buy handcrafted gifts for your loved ones in the gift store and visit the chapel and small museum.
Departing from Honningsvåg, we take an underwater tunnel that links the town to the mainland. The bus then takes us south along the majestic Porsangerfjord, before heading back along the coast to Hammerfest, one of the world's most northerly towns.
