In the morning, you'll sail past the towns of Braila and... more+ Galati, then the Danube forms a large loop and follows a region dotted with lakes before reaching Tulcea in the late morning. After flowing some 3,000 km through Europe, a third of it in Romania, the Danube empties into the Black Sea, not without having created, only 5,500 years ago, an aquatic paradise of some 3,500 km2 declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1991. It is made up of three main arms: Sulina in the center, Chilia in the north and Saint George in the south.

With its multitude of small canals, lakes and tongues of land, the delta forms a variety of ecosystems that benefit numerous plant and animal species, as well as the specific activities of the delta's inhabitants.

You'll find the world's largest surface area of reeds, providing an extraordinary nesting and protective environment for many species of birds, mammals and amphibians, as well as a material that has been used for construction for centuries. In the afternoon, you'll cruise the Saint George Canal, the most beautiful branch of the delta. Dinner and folklore evening.

Its countless lakes and marshes are home to over 300 species of birds and 45 species of freshwater fish. Classified as an International Biosphere Reserve, the delta can be visited by boat. The Danube delta is one of the most beautiful in Europe and the world, thanks to the variety of its landscapes and the richness of its flora and fauna. This sanctuary of nature, made up of canals, lakes, floating islets and forests of reeds, lianas, willows and poplars, is home to millions of migrating birds. You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of these many species.

Optional excursion Authentic / Experience: guided tour of Bucharest, nicknamed "Little Paris" in... more+ the 1930s. Welcoming and full of life, the Romanian capital leaves no one indifferent. Its monumental avenues are punctuated by beautiful gardens, parks and surprising alleyways. Communism may have changed the face of the city, as evidenced by the gigantic Palace of Parliament, but the "Little Paris of the Balkans" has retained the joie de vivre of a mixed-race city with a 19th-century feel. Typical lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Bucharest Ecomuseum for an insight into Romanian country architecture and farming traditions. Then head to the Palace of Parliament for a photo stop. The day ends with a visit to the Orthodox Church of the Patriarchs.

The most spectacular part of this defile was nicknamed "The Boilers" by navigators because the water, squeezed between steep mountain walls, once seemed to bubble. Nestled in the heart of the Serbian countryside, in the valleys of the Fruska Gora "Holy Mountain" National Park, the monastery is remarkable for its fusion of Byzantine and Baroque styles. Even today, it is a popular place for meditation. Continuation to Novi Sad. Considered by Serbs to be one of the most beautiful cities in the country, it boasts a vibrant pedestrianized historic heart. The Austro-Hungarian architecture of the main square rivals the beauty of 19th-century mansions. A green city, Novi Sad boasts pretty flowerbeds and tree-lined squares.

- Authentic: guided tour of Bratislava. Situated at the foot of the Little Carpathians, Bratislava shines in a wooded and rocky setting. Its castle, the city's emblem, stands on a hill above the Danube. From its forecourt, you can enjoy a unique view of the city and the river. The medieval old town is not to be outdone, with its maze of winding streets, squares, fountains and cafés. Bratislava is also known for its intense cultural and nightlife scene.
- Experience: hiking in the Little Carpathians through the Devinska Kobyla nature reserve. This Slovakian nature reserve, just a few kilometers from the capital, takes you to the ruins of Devin Castle, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Danube.

- Authentic: Vienna and a visit to Schoenbrunn Palace. A prestigious court... more+ center in the 18th century, the castle's ochre facade is closely linked to the dual Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The splendid edifice is home to eminently refined imperial furnishings, and the spirit of the Habsburgs watches over the dazzling residence. Then take a panoramic tour of the famous boulevard known as "the Ring". You'll see the exceptional monuments built between 1830 and 1890 that give it its unique atmosphere. During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to sample two Slovak specialties.
- Experience Vienna like a Viennese and go behind the scenes of the famous Konzerthaus. You'll discover one of Vienna's most important concert venues, the famous Konzerthaus, inaugurated in 1913 by Emperor Franz Joseph. Since then, tradition and innovation have constantly evolved to make it one of the most popular venues for musical ensembles (a visit to the Konzerthaus may be replaced by a visit to the Musikverein, or the opera house in the event of performances or unavailability). Then it's off to one of the city's many cafés for a cup of Viennese coffee. You'll have to go back to imperial times to discover its origins. During the harsh winters, carriage drivers would drink a hot cup of coffee topped with whipped cream between each run, to keep them going. The "coachman's coffee" or "Einspänner" was later called Viennese coffee outside Austria. Return on board.

Afternoon at leisure OR optional excursion: horse-drawn carriage ride. A fun and original way to visit Vienna. Let the rhythm of the horses guide you through the city, plunging you into the heart of its history. The coachman will lead you through the narrow streets of the Austrian capital to admire the magnificent Baroque buildings that adorn certain districts.

Departure by coach from Giurgiu with your guides to discover the Romanian capital of Bucharest. According to legend, the city was founded by a shepherd named Bucur (which means joy in Romanian). Bucharest has suffered greatly from its communist past but after... more+ the year 2000, due to the advent of significant economic growth, the city has modernized. You will start the visit with a panoramic tour of the city giving you an overview of the various monuments of the capital. You will take the coach to the Bucharest Eco-museum*, an authentic village in the city where you will discover the habitats of the different regions of Romania and their handcrafts. The visit will end with a photo stop at The Palace of Parliament, a gigantic neo-classical style marble construction designed by Ceausescu and then you will visit the Orthodox Church. We'll set off by coach to visit Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, which is also one of the oldest cities in Europe with a history stretching back some 7000 years. It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers, close to the Morava Corridor which... more+ links the countries of the Danube to the Aegean Sea. The town has a fortress sitting atop one of the highest hills in Belgrade as well as a commercial center and port. We'll start off our visit with a guided panoramic tour of the city, during which you will have the opportunity to admire Belgrade's National Theatre and National Museum, the Royal Palace which currently houses the City Assembly of Belgrade, the Ancient Royal Palace and more. We'll stop to visit the Orthodox Temple of St Sava. The construction of this church began in 1939 but is still a work in progress, given that the Second World War followed by Tito's dictatorship put a halt to it. Construction only started again in 2001 and is funded exclusively by charitable donations. You will be delighted by the magnificent paintings from the 18th century that adorn this beautiful 16th century monastery. Our coach will then take us to Novi Sad. Capital of the autonomous region of Vojvodina, Novi Sad is also the second largest town in Serbia, going by the size of its population. The town has a long and troubled history since it was under the rule of Celts, Romans, Franks, Barbarians and Turks until it became part of the Habsburg Empire. It was known as "Petrovaradin” in the past, and the name Novi Sad (meaning ‘new plant') only came into use in 1748. The history of the town was further troubled during the 20th century when after the First World War, the Balkan territories were in turn united and separated under different names, until in 2006 when the town finally became part of an independent Serbia. We'll visit the city center by foot. The old Austro-Hungarian city with its Baroque buildings developed around ancient fortifications. You will be able to see the Episcopal Church as well as the Orthodox Church before continuing up the main street to Freedom square with the old Town Hall, dating from 1895. We will walk round the castle quarter and on to the Fisherman's Bastion, built in neo-Roman style in 1902 for the simple pleasure of offering a panoramic view over the city and the Danube. There, we will visit Heroes' Square whose central monument depicting Prince Arpad and the chieftains of seven Magyar tribes was built for the millennium of Hungary. We will pass by the famous Szechenyi thermal baths, the zoo - a true piece of architecture - Vajdahunyad Castle and more. We will walk through the famous Andrassy Avenue and pass by St. Stephen's Basilica whose construction began in 1851 and was only completed in 1905. Bratislava, before becoming the capital of independent Slovakia in 1993 was first of all the capital of Hungary from 1536 to 1784 under the name of Presburg. It then belonged to Czechoslovakia before becoming the capital of the "Slovak Socialist... more+ Republic" as part of Czechoslovakia between 1969 and 1992. Along with your guides, you will begin the visit with a panoramic tour of the city which will take you to Bratislava Castle (outsides), which dates from 1811, after the previous castle burned down, and from where you will enjoy a breathtaking view over the Danube and the city. The main historical monuments are located in the Old Town and the coach will drop you off at its entrance to continue the visit on foot. You will enter through Michael's Gate, which is the only gate still surviving from the Middle-Ages. Then you will head for the central square surrounded by elegant buildings, some in Art Nouveau style, and dominated by the old Bratislava Town Hall. The tour continues with the Primate's Palace (outsides) completed in 1781 for Archbishop Jozef Bathyány.
