Kalocsa is also renowned for its folk crafts, featuring colorful embroidery and floral motifs on walls and furniture, and of course for sweet paprika, which has earned it international fame.
For those who enjoy excursions (not included), the Puszta awaits: traverse the paprika fields and vast Hungarian plains to the Csarda. You will visit a stud farm, take a short horse-drawn carriage ride across the plain, and watch an equestrian show presented by the csikos, traditional horse herders, to discover Hungarian equestrian traditions. After the performance, snacks and wine will be served. In the shop, you can purchase Hungarian handicrafts, paprika, wines, and liqueurs.
The ship then continues to Mohács, docking at 6:00 PM and departing at 7:00 PM. This charming town in southern Hungary is the ideal starting point for exploring Pécs (excursion not included). After a journey across the Hungarian plains, you will reach this historic city, situated on the slopes of the Mecsek Mountains. Pécs charms visitors with its mild climate, southern atmosphere, and rich artistic heritage. Here you’ll discover the basilica, the Szsami Mosque converted into a church, and the Zsolnay Fountain with its iconic ceramic decorations. As you stroll through the pedestrian-friendly downtown area, you’ll experience the unique atmosphere of this city, which was the European Capital of Culture in 2010.

The first stop on the excursion is the famous “Pleven Epic” panoramic monument, erected in 1977 to mark the centennial of Bulgaria’s liberation from Ottoman rule.
