Full board on board. Early in the morning, we moor in Melk, a small town in the heart of the... more+ magnificent Wachau Valley. It's world-famous for its Benedictine abbey on top of a rock overlooking the river (optional visit). At midday, we leave Melk to enjoy the scenery of the magnificent Wachau Valley. After lunch, we arrive in Dürnstein, a charming village in the heart of the winding Wachau valley, with a medieval castle. From the landing stage, you can walk directly into the historic town center, through the medieval town gates to Pranger Square. From here, you have a fine view of the castle ruins, famous for being the place where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the wines typical of the Wachau region. In the late afternoon, the ship leaves Dürnstein and sails for Hungary. Overnight on board.

This is an important place in Hungarian... more+ history, as it was the first capital of the Kingdom of Hungary, and it was here that the first king, Stephen I, was crowned in the year 1000. The Esztergom Basilica is Hungary's largest church and the city's symbol. Inside is Hungary's largest organ. At dinnertime, we head for Budapest, arriving at midnight. Night stopover in the city.
