In the afternoon, visit the Tuol Sleng Museum. This former detention center, grimly known as S-21 between 1975 and 1979, was set up in a former high school. Here, in a solemn atmosphere, visitors can appreciate the extent of the tragedy experienced by the Cambodian people under the Khmer Rouge regime. On the way back to the boat, stop at Vat Phnom Hill, a picturesque sanctuary dedicated to Lady Penh, after whom the city is named.
