Luxor Thebes Esna
Breakfast, then departure for the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, with a visit... more+ to the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located, along with those of their families and favored nobles. The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last vestiges of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-tiered temple built in 1455 BC is both harmonious and modern, and although dedicated to the god Amun, it also contains chapels dedicated to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. Next, head to the southern part of ancient Thebes on the east bank of the Nile to visit the Temple of Karnak. Return to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, we will begin sailing towards Esna. We will pass through the lock at the end of the day, followed by a "Galabia Party" costume party with dinner and overnight stay on board.

Esna Edfu Kom Ombo Aswan
After breakfast on board, the cruise continues to Edfu. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a horse-drawn... more+ carriage ride to the Temple of Edfu, located further inland (alternative transportation is available upon request). This temple dedicated to the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the second-largest sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions, and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the boat for lunch and sail upriver to Kom Ombo. Visit the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Built on a hill by three Ptolemies, the temple is surrounded by a perimeter wall covered with reliefs. Inside, the space is divided into two parts: the northern section dedicated to Haroeris, the falcon-headed god, and the southern section to Sobek, the crocodile god. Return to the boat and sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board, followed by a visit to the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae. Begun by... more+ Pharaoh Nectanebo I during Dynasty 30 and completed by the Romans, this is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. Take a felucca trip around Elephantine Island and discover the local shops, before leaving for the High Dam and the unfinished obelisk. The Aswan region, rich in schist, alabaster and pink granite found only in this part of Egypt, provided the stone blocks for the pyramids, statues and colossi built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry you'll find the tallest obelisk known to date (41.75m), which was abandoned due to a crack in the rock. Lunch and dinner on board. In the evening, optional sound and light show at the Temple of Philae. Night on board.

The Unfinished Obelisk of Aswan is an impressive remnant located in an ancient granite quarry in Upper Egypt. Commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, it was intended to be the largest obelisk ever constructed, reaching about 42 meters in height and... more+ weighing an estimated 1,200 tons. However, a crack that appeared during the carving process halted the work, leaving the monument incomplete and still attached to the bedrock.
Today, the site provides a unique insight into the working methods of ancient Egyptian stonecutters. Visitors can observe extraction techniques, tool marks, and the monumental logistics involved in creating such structures.
