Itinerary

Luxor Thebes West Esna
Our English-speaking guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle. You will visit the... more+ east bank of Luxor, home to the fabulous Karnak temple complex, the largest religious complex ever built, dedicated to the Theban triad headed by the god Amun-Ra. Its ancient name "Ipet-isut" means "the most sacred place." Inside the complex, the formidable hypostyle hall is a majestic and mysterious forest of 137 giant columns. You will then visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of Luxor, followed by the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom, as well as their families and favored nobles, are located.
The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el-Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-terraced temple is both harmonious and modern. Although dedicated to the god Amun, there are also chapels to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. This is not surprising, since the temple of Hatshepsut at El-Deir el-Bahari, one of the four female pharaohs to have ruled Egypt, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved in history." ." After the visits, return to your cruise. Your English-speaking guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your cruise dahabieh in Esna, where you will check in at noon. Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay on board.
