Breakfast, then visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, followed by the Valley... more+ of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located, as well as those of their families and favored nobles. The visits continue with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-tiered temple built in 1455 BC is both harmonious and modern, and although dedicated to the god Amun, it also contains chapels to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. This is not surprising, since Hatshepsut, one of the four female pharaohs to have ruled Egypt, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved by history." Return to the boat for lunch. Free afternoon on the boat in Luxor. Dinner and night on board. In the evening, optional sound and light show at the Temple of Karnak.

Luxor Esna
Early in the morning, after breakfast, visit the southern part of ancient Thebes with the temples... more+ of Karnak and Luxor. The two temples are linked by a dromos, a long walkway lined with sphinxes, and are dedicated to Amun. The three-enclosure temple at Karnak is itself part of the religious complex at Karnak, which includes the ruins of other temples, buildings and pylons. It was built and modified over a period of more than 2,000 years. Luxor Temple, built in the 14th century BC during the reign of Amenhotep III, was also subsequently modified by Ramses II, who added six monumental statues and two obelisks. After the visits, return to the boat for lunch and sail to Esna. The lock crossing will take place at the end of the day, and will be marked by a fancy dress "Galabia Party" with dinner and overnight on board.

Esna Edfu Kom Ombo
After breakfast on board, the cruise continues to Edfu. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a horse-drawn... more+ carriage ride to the Temple of Edfu, located further inland (alternative transportation is available upon request). This temple dedicated to the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the second-largest sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions, and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the boat and sail upriver to Kom Ombo. Lunch on board, followed by a visit to the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Built on a hill by three Ptolemies. The temple is surrounded by a perimeter wall covered with reliefs. Inside, the space is divided into two parts: the northern section dedicated to Haroeris, the falcon-headed god, and the southern section to Sobek, the crocodile god. Return to the boat and sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight stay.

Kom Ombo Aswan
After breakfast, departure to visit the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae. Begun by Pharaoh... more+ Nectanebo I during Dynasty 30 and completed by the Romans, this is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. After Philae, the visit continues with the high dam and the unfinished obelisk. The Aswan region, rich in schist, alabaster and pink granite found only in this part of Egypt, provided the stone blocks for the pyramids, statues and colossi built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry you will find the largest obelisk known to date (41.75m), which was abandoned due to a crack in the rock. Return to the boat for lunch, followed by a felucca trip around Elephantine Island, once used as a fortress. In the evening, optional sound and light show at the temple of Philae. Dinner and overnight on board.

Unfinished obelisk
The Unfinished Obelisk of Aswan is an impressive remnant located in an ancient granite quarry in Upper Egypt. Commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, it was intended to be the largest obelisk ever constructed, reaching about 42 meters in height and... more+ weighing an estimated 1,200 tons. However, a crack that appeared during the carving process halted the work, leaving the monument incomplete and still attached to the bedrock.
Today, the site provides a unique insight into the working methods of ancient Egyptian stonecutters. Visitors can observe extraction techniques, tool marks, and the monumental logistics involved in creating such structures.
