Cairo Luxor Esna El Hegz
After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will accompany you to Cairo Airport for your... more+ flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you. Then, your English-speaking guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to visit the east bank of Luxor, home to the fabulous Karnak temple complex, the largest religious complex ever built, dedicated to the Theban triad led by the god Amun-Re. Its ancient name, "Ipet-Isut," means "the most sacred place." Inside the complex, the formidable Hypostyle Hall is a majestic and mysterious forest of 137 giant columns. Next, you will visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, including the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located, as well as those of their families and nobles. The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, then Deir el-Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved into the Theban mountain, this three-terraced temple is both harmonious and surprisingly modern. Although dedicated to Amun, it also includes chapels dedicated to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women—which is not surprising, as Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved in history."
After the visits, your guide will drive you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your cruise dahabiya in Esna, where you will check in at noon. Lunch will be served on board while sailing. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you sail to El Hegz Island, where the boat will anchor for the night. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Dedicated to two deities—Sobek the crocodile in the south and Horus the falcon in the north—the temple has a perfectly symmetrical architecture.
