Enjoy another leisurely breakfast on the river as you sail to Edfu.
Continue sailing past small... more+ islands, where you’ll see children playing by the Nile, and buffaloes and donkeys walking along the riverbanks. Enjoy lunch on board as we continue sailing until we reach the small island village of Bassaw.
This community of around 500 inhabitants lives off the land, cultivating their own food—such as mangoes, bananas, and dates—and fishing for a living. Isolated from surrounding areas, Bassaw feels as though it’s frozen in time.
Upon arrival, we’ll visit the village. At the farmer’s home, we’ll be warmly welcomed, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions—particularly about education for girls living on the island. (There may even be a chance to help bake traditional sun bread for dinner!)
Enjoy dinner on the island, where the crew will host an Egyptian Night full of fun and folkloric entertainment.

Aswan
Enjoy breakfast aboard the Dahabeya. Continue sailing until we reach Aswan. We begin our tour in... more+ Aswan with the magnificent ancient Temple of Philae. The Temple of Philae, located on Agilkia Island, is one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Egypt. It was relocated entirely from its original site to its current position on higher ground to save it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, which was completed in 1977.
On our way back to our home Dahabeya, we have the opportunity to stop by the Aswan Souq (market), where you can practice your bargaining skills, visit the spice market, and enjoy the famous sugarcane juice.
There is also the possibility to visit the Nubian Village in Aswan, take a break with the Nubian people, ride camels, and perhaps enjoy a boat ride around the islands of Aswan, with a visit to the Botanical Garden.

Breakfast on board. Today, we have the option to take an excursion to the Abu Simbel Temples to... more+ visit the Temples of Ramses II and Nefertari.
Lunch on board, then we will set sail on our voyage towards Esna. As we continue sailing towards Kom Ombo, listen to the sounds of the water buffalo as they wade in the shallow waters beside the banks of the Nile, the donkeys going about their daily business, and the various birdlife of the river. We will then continue sailing towards Aswan, passing by Herdiab Island.
We arrive at the Temple of Kom Ombo, where your guide will take you to explore this remarkable temple. It is one of the most unique and intriguing ancient temples, as it was dedicated to two different gods: Sobek and Haeroris. To accommodate this, the builders constructed two of everything, resulting in a complex that is essentially two temples in one.
