Our local partner at Aswan Airport will accompany you and transfer you in an air-conditioned... more+ vehicle, then depart for a visit to the Temple of Philae on Agilka Island, one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Egypt. Begun by Pharaoh Nectanebo I during the 30th dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. After the visit, transfer to your Dahabeya on the Nile. Boarding at 12:00 pm, check-in, lunch, dinner, and overnight stay on board.
Optional evening transfer in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to the sound and light show at Philae.

After breakfast on board, transfer by private vehicle with your guide to Luxor to visit the east bank of Luxor, home to the fabulous Karnak Temple complex, the largest religious complex ever built, dedicated to the Theban triad headed by the god Amun-Re. Its ancient name "Ipet-isut" means "the most sacred place." Inside the complex, the formidable "hypostyle hall" is a majestic and mysterious forest of 137 giant columns. Then you will visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, followed by the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom, as well as their families and favored nobles, are located. The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-tiered temple is both harmonious and modern, and although dedicated to the god Amun, it also contains chapels to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. This is not surprising, since Hatshepsut, one of the four female pharaohs to have ruled Egypt, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved by history." After the visits, our guide will accompany you and transfer you to Luxor Airport OR your hotel.

Dahabiehs are traditional sailing boats that navigate primarily under sail. When wind conditions do not permit it, or on certain stretches of the Nile, the boat may be towed at a distance (approximately 30 m) by a small tugboat, as dahabiehs do not have engines
