Aswan Daraw
At 9:00 a.m., your journey begins with pick-up at your chosen address in Aswan by our local... more+ partner. You will be comfortably transferred to the embarkation point, where the dahabieh and its welcoming crew await you. After settling in and receiving a warm welcome on board, the boat sets sail for a nearby island. Enjoy a peaceful stroll through the serene countryside, offering a first glimpse of the pace of life along the Nile. Lunch is served on the sun deck as the dahabieh glides gently towards Daraw. In the evening, you will enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and spend your first night on board, immersed in the calm and timeless beauty of the river.

After breakfast, the day begins with a visit to the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to... more+ the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris. With its symmetrical design of twin entrances and sanctuaries, the temple reflects the duality of its divine dedication. Back on board, enjoy lunch as the Dahabieh continues its peaceful journey along the Nile. In the afternoon, arrive at Gebel el-Silsila, home to ancient sandstone quarries that once supplied stone for Egypt’s greatest temples. Explore the rock-cut chapels and remnants of this historic site, nestled dramatically along the riverbanks. Dinner is served on board, followed by another tranquil night on the Nile.

Upon arrival in Edfu, visit the stunningly preserved Temple of Horus, dedicated to the falcon god. The temple’s inner walls are densely inscribed with hieroglyphs, forming a stone-carved library of ancient wisdom. After lunch on board, the day winds down at a small Nile island. Enjoy a magical dinner around a campfire, followed by a peaceful overnight stay on the river.

Dahabiehs are traditional sailing boats that navigate primarily under sail. When wind conditions do not permit it, or on certain stretches of the Nile, the boat may be towed at a distance (approximately 30 m) by a small tugboat, as dahabiehs do not have engines
