After breakfast at the hotel, departure by private vehicle to the new Grand Egyptian Museum in... more+ Giza, located a few minutes from the Great Pyramids and 40 minutes from Cairo. This museum, partially opened after 19 years of construction, replaces the old Egyptian Museum and houses more than 100,000 objects tracing 3,000 years of history, from prehistory to the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods. Among its highlights are the Tutankhamun collection, on display for the first time in one place since its discovery, and the monumental 11-meter-high statue of Ramses II that dominates the entrance. The permanent exhibition includes 50,000 objects spread across 12 rooms classified by dynasty. The museum, with its angular design reminiscent of the pyramids, is managed as part of a public-private partnership and is part of a new cultural and tourist hub around Giza, also accessible via the new Sphinx International Airport.

After lunch in a typical restaurant on the banks of the Nile (vegetarian meals available on request), visit the Giza Plateau with the famous pyramids of Cheops, Khephren, and Mycerinus, as well as the Sphinx. The panorama offers an ideal view for memorable photos. Next, discover Cairo's Coptic Quarter, the heart of Christian life in the city, with the Church of St. Sergius, the Church of St. Mary known as the "Hanging Church," and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, true architectural and historical gems. Return to the hotel for the night in Cairo.

Cairo Luxor Esna El Hegz
After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will accompany you to Cairo Airport for your... more+ flight to Luxor Airport. Our representative will welcome you upon arrival. Afterwards, your English-speaking guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle. You will visit the east bank of Luxor, home to the fabulous Karnak Temple complex, the largest religious complex ever built, dedicated to the Theban triad headed by the god Amun-Re. Its ancient name "Ipet-isut" means "the most sacred place." Inside the complex, the formidable "hypostyle hall" is a majestic and mysterious forest of 137 giant columns. You will then visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, followed by the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom, as well as their families and favored nobles, are located. The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-tiered temple is both harmonious and modern, and although dedicated to the god Amun, it also contains chapels to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. This is not surprising, since Hatshepsut, one of the four female pharaohs to have ruled Egypt, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved by history." After the visits, return to your cruise ship. Your English-speaking guide will accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle to your Dahabieh cruise ship in Esna, where you will check in at noon.
