Itinerary

Abu Simbel Kasr Ibrim
You will begin your tour by exploring the famous temples of Abu Simbel, dedicated to Ramses II and... more+ his wife Nefertari, the most beautiful of women. This visit will be your first encounter with one of the most beautiful sites saved from the waters thanks to the help of UNESCO after the construction of the Aswan Dam.

Carved into the heart of the mountain, the temple of Ramses II was built in the 13th century BC to commemorate the victory of King Ramses II at the Battle of Kadesh. This temple was also built to honor the gods Ptah, Ra, and Amun. Its construction took about 20 years. Its facade, made of pink sandstone, is 30 m high and 40 m wide. It features four colossal statues of Ramses II. There are other statues, bas-reliefs, and friezes on the facade. 150 meters from the great temple, Ramses II built a small temple dedicated to the worship of his wife Nefertari, which bears the attributes of the goddess Hathor. The facade of this temple, also built into the rock, features six statues: two representing Nefertari, each flanked by two other statues of Ramses II. Each statue is 10 meters high. Their children are at their feet. Boarding and start of navigation for a cruise off the beaten track. Lunch on board. We will reach the site of Kas Ibrim after four hours of sailing. The word Kasr Ibrim means the palace of Ibrim, which contains various artifacts from the Christian and Muslim eras. It was transformed into a fortress during the Ottoman period. This site is the only one that still stands on its original location. A witness to different eras and the passage of several civilizations, it has deteriorated significantly as a result of looting by traffickers and fishermen in the region. We will spend the night and have dinner in one of the coves in this region. Pick-up from your hotel or the airport by our local partner, then transfer to the boat.

Wadi el Arab Dakka Wadi el Seboua Meharraga
Breakfast. Departure for the visit of some of the Nubian temples. We will explore the temples of... more+ Dakka, Wadi el Seboua, and Meharraqa, adorned with unique sculptures and colors of exceptional beauty and delicacy.
The temple of Dakka (Greek Pselchis) was built on the same site by the Nubian king Ergamenes and Ptolemy II when they jointly ruled Lower Nubia in the 3rd century BCE. It was later decorated and expanded by other Ptolemies and the Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius.
Built by Ramses II, the temple of Wadi el Seboua was dedicated to the gods Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, and the deified Ramses II. It is accessed via an avenue of sphinxes bearing the king's likeness. Unlike Abu Simbel, which he oversaw directly, Ramses II delegated its construction to the viceroy of Kush, the Nubian province, as he did with the temple of El Derr.
Return onboard for lunch. Navigation continues. We will spend the night in one of the bays of Khour el Alaki.
