Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel, then departure by private vehicle to visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum... more+ (GEM) in Giza, partially open after nearly 20 years of construction. Located near the pyramids, this monumental museum replaces the old Cairo Museum and houses an exceptional collection of over 100,000 objects tracing 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. Highlights include the monumental statue of Ramses II and the space entirely dedicated to Tutankhamun's treasure, exhibited in its entirety for the first time. The museum's modern architecture, inspired by the pyramids, makes this visit a major cultural experience. Lunch at a restaurant (or lunch on the Nile depending on the program—vegetarian meals available on request).

In the afternoon, accompanied by an English-speaking guide, discover the Giza Plateau, symbol of ancient Egypt, with the famous pyramids of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure, the temple of Khafre, and the majestic Sphinx, the largest monolithic sculpture in the world. Stop at the viewpoint to capture the three pyramids together.

The day continues with a visit to the Coptic Quarter of Old Cairo, the historic heart of Egyptian Christianity. Discover the Church of St. Sergius, built on the supposed site of the Holy Family's refuge, the Church of St. Mary, known as the Hanging Church, remarkable for its architecture and icons, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, a masterpiece of Jewish heritage. Return to the hotel in Cairo and overnight stay.

Cairo Luxor Esna El Hegz
After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will accompany you to Cairo Airport for your... more+ flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you. Your English-speaking guide will drive you in an air-conditioned vehicle to the east bank of Luxor, site of the fabulous Karnak complex—the largest religious complex ever built, dedicated to the Theban triad with Amun-Ra. Its ancient name "Ipet-isut" means "the most sacred place." The spectacular hypostyle hall has 137 monumental columns. You will then visit the Theban Necropolis on the west bank, followed by the Valley of the Kings with its tombs of New Kingdom pharaohs. The tour continues to the Colossi of Memnon and the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Carved into the Theban cliff, this three-level temple combines harmony and modernity. Although dedicated to Amun, it also houses chapels of Anubis and Hathor. The temple of Hatshepsut, one of only four female pharaohs, remains an exceptional testament to her reign. After the visits, transfer to your dahabieh in Esna (boarding at noon). Lunch on board while sailing to El Hegz Island for the night. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
