Frankfurt am Main, a metropolis in the heart of Europe, is considered Germany's financial capital. Its towering skyscrapers house the headquarters of numerous banks, earning it the nickname "Bankfurt." Frankfurt is also home to the European Central Bank. The tour continues with a walking tour of the old town, passing by the Imperial Cathedral (exterior) and exploring the heart of the historic center, Römerberg, whose history dates back to the Hohenstaufen era.
Optional excursion: Panoramic tour of Frankfurt and ascent of the Main Tower. During the panoramic tour, admire the city's impressive skyscrapers, which house the headquarters of major banks and form the famous skyline reaching towards the blue sky. You will have the opportunity to ascend the Main Tower, the city’s most famous skyscraper, entirely made of glass and inspired by American architecture. These sleek buildings have given Frankfurt the nickname "Mainhattan." From the 200-meter-high observation deck, enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Evening entertainment.

Included excursion: Guided tour of... more+ Cochem Castle. Transfer by minibus to Cochem Castle. The Reichsburg majestically overlooks the Moselle in all its splendor. Enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent castle, which dates back to the year 1000. Destroyed in the 17th century, it was completely rebuilt according to old plans in a neo-Gothic style. It stands out for its elegant turrets topped with bell towers. After visiting the castle, enjoy free time in the town. Strolling through its narrow, winding streets, you will find half-timbered houses with slate roofs and the historic town hall square.

Optional excursion: Panoramic walk through Cochem. Walk along the Moselle before crossing the bridge to explore Cochem's old town through its picturesque alleys. Admire the charming half-timbered houses, Saint Martin’s Church, the Capuchin Monastery, and the lively market square. Leaving the town, the trail leads through peaceful countryside and forest to the castle overlooking the city, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Cochem and the Moselle. On the way down, pass by the Tummelchen, which provides another stunning view of the castle, before returning through the upper part of the city.

In the morning, sail towards Rüdesheim, in the beautiful Romantic Rhine Valley. With its castles,... more+ historic towns, vineyards, and the famous Loreley Rock, this sublime landscape, deeply connected to history and legend, has inspired numerous writers, painters, and composers. Arrival in Rüdesheim in the early afternoon.

Included excursion: Tourist train ride, wine tasting, and the Mechanical Music Museum in Rüdesheim. Take a guided tour through the vineyards of Rüdesheim aboard a tourist train. Enjoy a wine tasting in the historic cellars of Bassenheimer Hof, a 16th-century manor house. Then, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet, housed in a historic 15th-century building. This museum boasts an impressive collection of mechanical musical instruments and is one of the largest and most beautiful collections from the 18th to the 20th centuries.

Optional excursion: Walk through the vineyards of Rüdesheim. Head to the center of Rüdesheim, the departure point for cable cars that take you to the Niederwald Monument. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of the city, vineyards, and the Rhine. Continue with a walk through the vineyards to St. Hildegard Abbey, built between 1900 and 1904. Visit the abbey at your leisure before walking back to the ship through the vineyards.

Meet your guides at Heidelberg Castle, where they will show you the exterior of this magnificent pink sandstone castle, part of which remains in ruins. Since the late 18th century, the castle ruins have inspired painters and poets, who saw in them a symbol of human greatness and decline. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland, and Eichendorff celebrated the castle's landscape, while many painters chose it as a motif. You will also discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate Garden, the "Hortus Palatinus," once considered the "eighth wonder of the world." Your guides will take you on a tour of the old town, where you will admire the exterior of the Church of the Holy Spirit, built between 1398 and 1441, which serves as the burial site of the Prince-Electors. We'll ascend the Main Tower, the most well-known skyscraper in the city, built entirely with a blue glass exterior. We'll depart on foot for a walk along the Moselle before crossing the bridge leading to the old town of Cochem. You'll get to admire the picturesque streets lined with half-timbered houses, St Martin's Church, the Capuchin Monastery and Church and... more+ the marketplace. Our path will then lead us outside the town through a wild natural reserve all the way to Cochem Castle (Reichsburg) which overlooks the whole town. From there, we'll encounter gorgeous views over Cochem and the Moselle. We'll pass by the "Tummelchen" area, offering a view on the castle, before returning to our ship via the upper part of town.  PLEASE NOTE The order of the visits can change. Times are approximate.

We'll go to the center of Rüdesheim to catch a gondola lift to the Niederwalddenkmal, a monument built in the 19th century to commemorate the first unification of Germany. From there, you'll have a great view of the small city, the vineyards and... more+ the Rhine. We'll hike through the vineyards to the Abbey of St. Hildegard, built in the early 20th century. You'll have some free time to explore the abbey before we return to the ship through the vineyards once more. PLEASE NOTE Wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. 8km-hike with a 300m elevation gain. Departure for the visit of Heidelberg. This cosmopolitan, friendly, and vibrant city is made up of 15 distinct neighborhoods and is particularly attractive to families, students, business people, and researchers. We'll begin with a visit to the outside of Heidelberg Castle, where you'll be able to see the Renaissance ruins and parts of its restoration. The castle has a history that is almost as old as the city itself. From either the Great Terrace or the gardens, enjoy an amazing view over Heidelberg, the Neckar River, and the valley. Don't miss seeing the Heidelberg Tun. Built in 1751 by Prince Elector Karl Theodor, it housed the wine paid as taxes by the wine growers in the region. Legend has it that the permanently intoxicated court jester who guarded the cask, Perkeo, died after mistakenly drinking a simple glass of water. You can also enjoy a stroll through the castle gardens, once considered a masterpiece of their time. Built upon several terraces, they were made up of many flower beds, mazes, sculptures, heated greenhouse with orange trees, large ponds, waterfalls, and a man-made grotto. We'll then head for the Neckarmünzplatz, on the banks of the Necker River, and continue with a guided tour of the old city. We'll pass by the Church of the Holy Spirit, the most famous church in Heidelberg, whose steeple dominates the town.
