Morning sailing on the Romantic Rhine to the famous Loreley Rock. The river path winds along a... more+ route dominated by theatrical ruins, hillside vineyards and majestic fortresses. Visit the lounge bar for a tasting of the famous bredeles!
Afternoon arrival in Rüdesheim, a picturesque wine village with narrow cobbled streets and half-timbered inns. Excursion included: train ride and visit to the Rüdesheim Mechanical Music Museum. Departure by small train to the Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett, Germany's first museum dedicated to memory-based musical instruments. From the gentle music box to the titanic concert-piano orchestrion, no fewer than 350 automatic instruments have been brought together to form one of the largest and most beautiful collections from the 18th to the 20th century, displayed on over 400 m². Afterwards, enjoy a free stroll through the city and discover its Christmas Market of Nations in the historic center. Stroll through the 120 little wooden chalets and discover this German-style market, with its unique range of handicrafts, gift ideas and culinary specialties such as shortbread, Weihnachtsgebäck and pretzels. One of a kind, you can also admire one of Europe's largest nativity scenes with life-size figures on the market square. Walk down the famous Drosselgasse to the ship. Dinner on board. In the evening, take a stroll around town to a traditional guinguette, where you can sample the local specialty: Rüdesheimer Kaffee.

On arrival, excursion included: Mainz and the Gutenberg Museum.... more+ Depart on foot for a guided tour of Mainz. Admire the city's magnificent historic buildings, which have been remarkably restored. You'll have the chance to enter the magnificent cathedral, whose construction began in 975 and has left its mark on the city's history. You'll also stroll through the picturesque streets of the old town. Last but not least, you'll visit the Gutenberg Museum. Born in Mainz around 1400, Johannes Gensfleisch Gutenberg himself prepared the printing of the so-called "42-line Bible", published in 1455, the oldest printed book in the world. Enjoy some free time before returning to the ship on foot. Stroll around the Christmas market, admiring the beauty of its decorations. Set in a superb, picturesque setting, the Mainz market is held around the impressive St. Martin's Cathedral, against a backdrop of splendid historic houses with Renaissance-style facades. Follow the aisles lined with the region's characteristic Christmas pyramids and chalets displaying handmade objects, curiosities and typical specialties rooted in the tradition of home cooking that will delight your taste buds. A true reflection of the German art of living, markets are places where people meet and exchange ideas at the end of the day over a good meal. A Christmas atmosphere to be savored without moderation in the comfort of a cosy barrel converted into a relaxation area for a well-deserved break! Early morning arrival in Gambsheim. Excursion included: the Lalique Museum. Departure by coach for... more+ Wingen-sur-Moder and the Lalique Museum, dedicated to the illustrious master glassmaker and jeweler René Lalique and his successors. A true man and artist of genius, he knew how to evoke the brilliance of jewelry, reveal the magic of transparencies and the light of crystal. Discover drawings, jewels, bottles, tableware, lighting and vases in which the work of crystal and glass is represented and highlighted in all its forms. In a magical world, admire a fabulous panorama of its permanent collections and creations, without missing the temporary section dedicated entirely to Christmas. In anticipation of the event, the unique architectural structure, conceived as a jewel box of incredible treasures, is decked out in its finest Christmas lights. A skilful blend of ancient and contemporary creations in sparkling settings to delight the eye. Return on board to enjoy lunch on the way to Strasbourg.

Free time to stroll through the Alsatian capital and its illustrious Christmas markets. Located in several of the city's squares, these enchanting markets create a unique atmosphere.
Return by coach, where you'll be served a glass of mulled wine. Alsatian dinner followed by an evening quiz to test your knowledge of Alsace's Christmas markets.

You will set off on foot from accompanied by your guides and visit the town of Mainz. Capital of the Rhine Palatinate, Mainz was founded more than 2000 years ago by the Romans. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the top architects and sculptors created the basic... more+ shape of the town, with fine palaces and churches. Here you can admire the magnificent historic houses which have been outstandingly well-restored. Located on the banks of the Rhine opposite the confluence of the Rhine with the Main, Mainz will captivate you with its quite incomparable lifestyle, its unique charm and its openness to the world. In the company of your guide, you will be able to enter the magnificent Cathedral, whose construction began in 975 and which has left a deep mark on the history of the town. The interior of the cathedral houses some wonderful historic treasures, including tombs and funerary monuments from the 13th to the 18th centuries. You will also have the opportunity to wander up and down the colorful streets in the old town. Finally you will visit the Gutenberg Museum, the world's finest museum for printing equipment, materials and books. Born in Mainz around 1400, Johannes Gensfleisch Gutenberg himself prepared the copy of the Bible referred to as "the 42-line Bible” which was published in 1455 - the oldest printed book in the world. Out of the 46 copies still in existence, the museum has just one, along with a "Mainz Psalter”, the first ever document printed using three different colors of ink. The museum extends over five floors and provides a quite remarkable exhibition on the history of the book and written word in both Europe and the world as a whole. Return on board on foot. PLEASE NOTE The Gutenberg Museum is closed on Sunday mornings and on Mondays. Good walking shoes are recommended: visit entirely on foot; streets are cobblestoned in the old town.
