In the morning, included excursion: Avignon and the Palais des Papes. An imposing fortress and... more+ sumptuous palace, it is a symbol of the power of Christianity in the Middle Ages and was home to seven popes in the 14th century. As you visit the rooms of the largest Gothic palace in the world, the tour will retrace the lives of the popes and their political and religious power. You will be able to admire the large ceremonial halls, chapels, and private apartments of the Popes. Visit the Halles d'Avignon market, an important facet of authentic Provence. Its effervescent atmosphere, specific scents, and incomparable flavors make it a true ambassador of taste.
Afternoon sailing to Tarascon. Take the opportunity to go out on the sun deck and admire the landscapes of Provence. You will pass through the large lock at Vallabrègues before reaching Tarascon.

In the morning, included excursion: visit to Tarascon Castle, a Provençal fortress combining... more+ Gothic and Renaissance styles. On the banks of the Rhône stands Tarascon Castle, a fortress built by the Princes of Anjou in the early 15th century. Remarkably well preserved, it is one of the most beautiful medieval castles in France and Europe. During the tour of the castle, you will discover the apothecary of the Saint-Nicolas hospital, more than 30 rooms, and an exceptional panorama of the Rhône and Provence from the huge terrace overlooking the castle. Return on board and sail to Arles.
In the afternoon, included excursion: Les Baux-de-Provence, its santon museum, Arles, and the Santonniers exhibition. Drive to Les Baux-de-Provence. A village perched on a rocky outcrop with an incredibly rich architectural heritage. Its citadel overlooks natural sites of extraordinary beauty. Visit the santons museum, which houses a large number of pieces from various collections, including a traditional Provençal nativity scene and the daily life of a family in the 19th century, presented in two large display cases. Return to Arles for a guided tour of the city before discovering the Salon International des Santonniers, the unmissable event for lovers of nativity scenes and santons in the south of France. Created by artisans in 1958 to showcase the work of santonnier craftsmen, today more than 100 exhibitors and creators gather each year. Free time before returning to the boat. Evening entertainment on board.

Morning sailing to Aigues-Mortes. You will take the Petit-Rhône and pass Saint-Gilles and the only... more+ lock before joining the Rhône Canal at Sète, which runs along the wetlands of the Petite Camargue. Arrival in Aigues-Mortes in the afternoon. Included excursion: Aigues-Mortes. Founded in the 13th century by Saint Louis, Aigues-Mortes boasts a particularly well-preserved architectural ensemble. Located in the heart of the Camargue region of the Gard, the city has the appearance of a medieval fortress, with its 1,634 meters of ramparts, fortified gates, twenty towers, and parapet walk. Then, tasting of the authentic fougasse d'Aigues Mortes, a brioche glazed with sugar and flavored with orange blossom water. In the past, this delicacy was made at Christmas time: the baker made the dough and the customer brought the ingredients. It was the baker's Christmas gift. Gala evening.

You'll set out on foot for a guided tour of the Papal Palace. Avignon was the seat of the papacy in the 14th century. The palace and surrounding buildings are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. During this tour, you'll visit the great halls once used for ceremonies and feasts, the painted chapels, the Pope's private residences, and the terraces with fantastic views of Avignon and the Rhône River.
