Makatea Mataiva
Surrounded by steep cliffs rising nearly 240 feet above sea level, Makatea is the only atoll in the... more+ Tuamotu Islands with drinkable water, sourced from its underground caves. Once prosperous due to phosphate mining from 1917 to 1964, the atoll is now nearly deserted, with only a few families remaining. Today, the locals make a living from copra farming, fishing, and trading coconut crabs, known as “Kaveu.”
Our ship offers the opportunity to visit the remnants of Makatea’s mining era.
Passengers will disembark by tender at the Temao dock and begin their exploration of the island either on foot or by vehicle. Visit the sacred caves of Makatea and enjoy a picnic under the cliffs or on the beach.

Mataiva Anaa
Mataiva has everything to dazzle travelers. Its unique lagoon and white sand beaches make it one of... more+ the most stunning atolls in French Polynesia. Easily accessible from Tahiti, Mataiva has preserved its authenticity and tranquility. There is little tourism here, and the locals are welcoming, kind, and warm.
Passengers will disembark by barge at Pahua Wharf and will be greeted with an "Orero" performance. The village is a 5-minute walk from the wharf and can be explored at your leisure.
Optional excursions will be offered, such as visits to the "Turtle Rock", the "Paure" marae, the phosphate pond, the bird motu, and the "pito" of Mataiva (registration at the reception). 4x4 vehicles will take you to a private beach for a picnic and to enjoy the lagoon.

Anaa Tautira
Anaa, the cradle of Tahiti’s royal family, the Pomare dynasty, has made its mark in... more+ history.
Today, Anaa is best known for its sparkling jade-green lagoon and the picturesque white sand “butterfly” that surrounds it. Most of the population is involved in copra oil production or fishing, which has led to the development of the island’s sustainable fishing program. Look for the "feo", the massive fossilized coral blocks characteristic of the atoll.
Passengers will disembark by barge at Tukuhora Wharf. By bus or on foot, they can explore the village and its unique features. The shallow, translucent lagoon is ideal for fly fishing, one of the activities offered on Anaa. A picnic is provided on the beach in the village of Tukuhora.

Tautira Papeete
Tautira means "the mast of a double-hulled canoe laid on the ground." It is a village located on... more+ the isthmus of Tahiti island. It is part of the commune of Taiarapu Est, which includes Tautira, Faaone, Afaahiti (Taravao), and Pueu. Tautira was once one of the most important districts of Tahiti, led by Chief Vehiatua, who declared the independence of Taiarapu Est in 1768 and led his commune to supremacy over the entire island in 1773.
Passengers will disembark by barge at the Vereiti site, where the Pepena group will perform to set a local atmosphere. They can enjoy snorkeling at the beach, visit a taro factory just a 5-minute walk away, and relax by the river. Excursions to "Te Pari" will depart from the Vereiti pontoon (registration at the reception). "Maa Tahiti" will be served upon return from the excursion.
This is the end of our journey. It’s time to say Nana! (Goodbye) to your fellow travelers, the Polynesian staff, and the guides.
