Familiarize yourself with Rangiroa's coral gardens and tropical fish on this glass-bottomed boat tour. Your boat will float gently over the huge coral formations that cluster in the shallows of Tiputa Pass.
You'll be able to contemplate a colorful world of... more+ parrotfish, butterflyfish and surgeonfish through the large glass window. You may also catch a glimpse of blacktip sharks, or a majestic napoleon fish. During the excursion, the boat's Polynesian crew will lure the fish directly under the glass bottom so you can observe and photograph them more easily.
A roof will protect you from the sun and glare, so you can take some great photos.
At the end of the tour, you'll be taken back to the pier.

Discover Rangiroa's black pearl industry and culture on a visit to the “Black Pearl Farm”.
You'll leave the wharf by minibus and travel to the pearl farm via Rangiroa's main road and airport. Most pearl farms are small; the number of workers here is... more+ fairly typical of other farms in the region.
As soon as you arrive, the staff will briefly explain how pearls are grown and produced. You'll learn all about the chronology and evolution of this industry, as well as how oysters are selected, bred and then grafted for production.
Following these explanations, you'll visit the sheds where the oysters are sorted and cleaned, and watch a grafter at work as he performs his craft with skill.
At the end of the tour, you'll be taken back to the quay by minibus.

Starting from Maroe aboard a "Truck," a famous local-style bus, you will cross the bridge to Huahine Nui, the "big island." You will then drive... more+ along lush valleys and turquoise lagoons to Fare, the island's capital, where Captain James Cook stayed during his visits.
Your first stop will be the village of Maeva, considered one of the most important archaeological areas in French Polynesia. While walking through the village, you will visit archaeological sites along the lakeside, as well as the Pote’e Museum of Fare. You will learn all about Polynesia: origins, migrations, traditional society, religion, botany, European explorers… and see up close various tools, handicrafts, and traditional artifacts.
You will continue your visit to the hill of Mata’ire’a overlooking the village of Maeva, home to over 200 stone structures, including maraes, agricultural terraces, house foundations, fortified walls, and funerary platforms.
Your next stop by "Truck" will be a vanilla plantation run by a local family, where you will have the opportunity to purchase various products. You will then stop to learn about 500-year-old fish traps, which, after restoration, are still used by the inhabitants of Maeva.
On your return trip to the port, you will pass through the village of Faie, where your guide will feed the giant blue-eyed eels swimming in the stream.

From the dock, you’ll board your "Truck" and pass through the Fa’anui district. Along the way, you’ll drive through small villages and fields, offering a glimpse of the daily life of Bora Bora’s residents. A brief stop at Fanny Bay will allow you to photograph Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia.

Your route continues to the ancient ceremonial site of Fa’anui Marae, followed by a visit to the bunkers built by American GIs during World War II.
