Strasbourg Bormes Rudesheim
Full board on board. Arrival in Bormes in the morning. The Germanic peoples made it their capital.... more+ The town is also famous for its Romanesque architecture. The highlight of the visit is the 11th-century cathedral of Saint-Pierre. With its four towers and twin domes, this spectacular old building ranks alongside the cathedrals of Speyer and Mainz as one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture. The nave is particularly impressive, reaching a height of around 27 metres, while the domes are 40 metres high. Bormes is also a popular starting point for an excursion along the Deutsche Weinstrasse, an 80-kilometre route through the local wine-growing towns. Optional visit. In the afternoon, we drop anchor in Rüdesheim, one of the country's most visited towns. Historic monuments such as the Klunkhardshof, the Adler fortified tower, the thousand-year-old Brömser castle or the ruins of Ehrenfels castle invite you to linger a while. Overnight on board.
