Your expedition cruise departs from Hamburg, a city rich in history, art and culture. There's no... more+ shortage of local attractions, so make time for a few visits before boarding your expedition ship.
Don't miss Hamburg-Altstadt (the Old Town) and its many attractions, starting with the Church of St Nicholas and the historic Deichstraße. You can also take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating history of two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Chilehaus and the world's largest complex of port warehouses.
Once on board, you'll receive your complimentary expedition jacket, meet your expedition team, explore your ship's comfortable facilities and settle into your cabin as we set sail.

The famous Preikestolen cliff, nicknamed the ‘Rock of the Pulpit’, and the astonishing Kjragbolten, an erratic boulder stuck in the crevasse of a mountain, can also be seen from the ship.Thirsty for adventure? Lysefjorden Shetland Islands
Shetland, Scottish islands with Scandinavian roots. We sail north-west to the Shetland Islands.... more+ There, explore Lerwick. The capital of the archipelago is a friendly fishing town with Victorian architecture and a sumptuous setting.
Stroll along the narrow streets and stock up on toffee, whisky and handmade woollen jumpers in the little shops. The old seafront is home to the Shetland Museum, where Pictish stones and Shetland lace shawls are on display. Fort Charlotte and the majestic Town Hall are also nearby.
Get your binoculars ready to spot grey and harbour seals basking along Lerwick's beaches, as well as birdlife including red-throated loons, redshanks and curlews.

Shetland Islands Torshavn
Discover Streymoy, in the Faroe Islands. Tórshavn is located on Streymoy, the largest of the... more+ islands in the Faroe archipelago. Founded in the X century by the Vikings, this capital, whose name means ‘Thor's port’, is one of the oldest in northern Europe.
Take to the cobbled streets lined with colourful houses with typical grass roofs. Visit the local museums to discover the origins of the town, as well as the fauna, flora and geology of the Faroe Islands.
Around 800 metres from the town is the Svartifoss waterfall, whose waters crash over mossy rocks. As you stroll along the seafront, you can spot eider ducks and the beige-winged Faroese starling.

At sea - Iceland Reykjavik
Your Iceland expedition cruise is drawing to a close, but you still have one last destination to... more+ explore: the capital Reykjavik, rich in art, culture and history.
Stroll along the main street of Laugavegur, indulge yourself in the boutiques and galleries, gaze at the Hallgrímskirkja church and cultivate yourself at the art museum. Finally, take a dip in the Blue Lagoon, one of the 25 natural wonders of the world, with geothermal waters rich in silica, algae and minerals.
You can also complete this trip with a tour of Iceland. Ask about our ‘Tour of Iceland - From Hamburg to Reykjavik via the Northern Islands’ trip, which combines the two cruises.
Alternatively, you can take part in our post-programme along Iceland's magnificent south coast, with its waterfalls, black sand beaches, geothermal pools and majestic mountains.
