You'll sail past the Dunajské Luhy protected landscape park, a marshland that is a crucial environment for rare bird species, one of the most important nesting areas and an exceptional ornithological territory stretching right up to the gates of Bratislava. Optional morning excursions:
- Guided tour of the Slovak capital. Situated at the foot of the Little Carpathians, the city is surrounded by woodlands and rocky outcrops. Its castle, the city's emblem, stands on a hill above the Danube. From its forecourt, you can enjoy a unique view of the city and the river. The medieval old town is not to be outdone, with its maze of winding streets, squares, fountains and cafés. Bratislava is also known for its intense cultural and nightlife scene.
- Hiking in the Little Carpathians through the Devinska Kobyla nature reserve. This Slovakian nature reserve, just a few kilometers from the capital, will take you to the ruins of Devin Castle, from where you'll enjoy an admirable view of the Danube.
Afternoon sailing along the Danube Alluvial Meadows National Park, the wildest part of the Danube, a veritable oasis between Bratislava and Vienna. Arrival in Vienna at the end of the day.
Evening at leisure or optional excursion: Viennese music concert (optional and subject to availability). In a legendary Viennese venue, enjoy some of the finest works by Mozart and Strauss, and let yourself be transported to the rhythm of waltzes, polkas, arias...

- Authentic: visit Schoenbrunn Palace and take a panoramic tour of... more+ Vienna. A prestigious court center in the 18th century, the castle's ochre facade is closely linked to the dual Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The splendid edifice is home to eminently refined imperial furnishings, and the spirit of the Habsburgs watches over the dazzling residence. Then take a panoramic tour of the famous boulevard known as "the Ring". You'll see the exceptional monuments built between 1830 and 1890 that give it its unique atmosphere.
- Experience Vienna as the Viennese do. You'll discover one of Vienna's most important concert venues, the famous Konzerthaus. Inaugurated in 1913 by Emperor Franz Joseph, the Konzerthaus has since evolved from tradition and innovation to become one of the most popular venues for musical ensembles (a visit to the Konzerthaus may be replaced by a visit to the Musikverein, or the opera house in the event of performances or unavailability). You'll then head off to one of the city's many cafés for a cup of Viennese coffee. You'll have to go back to imperial times to discover its origins. In harsh winters, carriage drivers used to drink a hot cup of coffee topped with whipped cream between each run, to keep them going. The "coachman's coffee" or "Einspänner" was later called Viennese coffee outside Austria. In the afternoon, optional authentic excursion/experience: visit the Hofburg. Located in the historic heart of Vienna, the Hofburg is an astonishing sight. It exudes the sense of excess and splendor associated with imperial power. Nevertheless, it is a fascinating place for history and architecture enthusiasts. Today, the imperial apartments house the "Sissi" museum, where the seductive empress has become a cult figure adored by all.

Early in the morning, travel up the most beautiful part of the Wachau region. This landscape,... more+ shaped by the Danube, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as Austria's oldest cultural region. The valley stretches for around 30 kilometers and is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Arrive in Melk in the early morning.
Optional excursion: visit Dürnstein, a small medieval town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its architectural heritage. The village is full of curiosities, including the elegant Baroque bell tower of Dürnstein Church, the medieval and Renaissance facades of the town hall, and the colorful houses on the main street.
In the afternoon, optional excursion: visit to Melk Abbey (advance booking required before departure). A masterpiece of Baroque architecture, the abbey overlooks the splendid Wachau Valley. You will notice the ochre color that adorns the grandiose façade, reminiscent of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The interior of the abbey is equally impressive, with magnificent Baroque frescoes and a library containing nearly 100,000 volumes, some of which are among the most precious manuscripts of the Middle Ages. Return on board at Ybbs. Cruise to Passau. Along the river, villages with onion domes, picturesque houses, and legendary fortresses dot the landscape. Gala evening.

Guided tour of Bratislava
Before becoming the capital of independent Slovakia in 1993, Bratislava was first the capital of Hungary from 1536 to 1784 under the name Pressburg. It then belonged to Czechoslovakia and became the capital of the "Slovak Socialist Republic," part of... more+ Czechoslovakia between 1969 and 1992. Accompanied by your guides, you will begin the tour with a panoramic tour of the city that will take you to Bratislava Castle ( exterior), dating from 1811, as the previous castle burned down. From there, you will have a stunning view of the Danube and the city. The main historical monuments are located in the old town, where the bus will drop you off to continue the tour on foot. You will enter through Michael's Gate, the only remaining gate dating back to the Middle Ages. Then you will head to the central square lined with elegant buildings, some of which are Art Nouveau in style, dominated by the old Bratislava City Hall . You will continue the tour by discovering the Primatial Palace ( exterior), completed in 1781 for Archbishop Jozef Bathyány. As you wander the streets, you may come across some amusing statues that populate the capital. Visit to the Hofburg
Departure by coach with your local guide. You will discover the Hofburg, which is also known for having been during 600 years the "Winter Residency" of the Habsburgs. Over the course of their reign, they turned this small 13th century fortress into... more+ a colossal and beautiful palace. The different buildings today mostly house museums and the gardens, dotted with monuments, have become the Volksgarten and the Burggarten. We will climb up the Emperor's Staircase to reach the Sisi Museum which extends over six rooms that have been equipped to solely center on Elisabeth's private life. Here numerous personal items that once belonged to Elisabeth are used to help illustrate the true personality of the frequently misunderstood Empress. The sensitively designed exhibits are inspired by the monarch's poetry and illustrate how the once light-hearted young girl, Sisi, became a restless, unapproachable and melancholic woman. The more than 300 items on display in the museum include parasols, boxes and gloves which once belonged to Elisabeth, along with a reconstruction of the evening dress worn by 16 year old Sisi in 1854 before she left her home in Munich, and a replica of a section of her imperial railway carriage. We'll then move on to Imperial Apartments and access the 19 official and private rooms that once belonged to Franz Joseph and Elisabeth. The Imperial Apartments are a reflection of the monarchic splendor. You will get to see the Emperor's Audience Chamber, his Conference Room, and his bedroom before peering through Elizabeth's apartments with her salons, lavatory and bathroom and her dressing and exercise room where Elizabeth spent most of her time.
