Vientiane Mekong
In the afternoon, you will board your charming boutique boat and settle into your accommodation... more+ cabin to unpack for an 11-day cruise. (Check-in is at 1pm). You will then take part in a guided tour of the Laotian capital, including the That Luang Stupa and the Patuxai, known as the Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane. Back on board, your river boat will begin its cruise upstream. Enjoy its spacious decks and lounge before attending the welcome reception and dinner. A selection of Asian and European dishes will be served throughout the cruise.

In the afternoon, you reach Luang Prabang, the former royal capital of Laos, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a walk up to Mount Phou Si, which offers a spectacular view of the Mekong and Khan Rivers and the surrounding mountains. Later you stroll along the Mekong and visit the colorful night market of the local Hmong minority. Back on board you are celebrating this evening with a local dancing performance and a traditional Lao Baci friendship ceremony.

During breakfast, your ship travels upstream until it stops at the famous Pak Ou caves, home to... more+ thousands of small Buddha statues. From here, you can take a short hike through the jungle to a small riverside village and visit its distillery. Alternatively, you can travel there in comfort by boat. Nearby, you may see elephants in action, unless they are employed elsewhere at the time of your visit. In the afternoon, your boat continues its cruise upstream towards the province of Oudomxay.
