Luang Prabang Khok Luang
In the morning, passengers are met at the pier in downtown Luang Prabang.
Our team will assist you... more+ with check-in and take care of your luggage.
Departure for a 3-night cruise on the Upper Mekong.
After settling in on board, head to the lounge for a welcome presentation and safety briefing with the cruise director, as the cruise begins toward the famous Pak Ou Caves.
Arrival at the Pak Ou Caves, nestled along the rocky cliffs bordering the Mekong River.
They consist of two caves containing approximately 4,000 sacred Buddhist statues and images.
Explore the lower cave, which is the most impressive and accessible.
Two optional activities are available: a kayaking trip on the Nam Ou River or a visit to the nearby village of Ban Muang Keo, renowned for its silk weaving and Lao whiskey distillation.
There is also the option to visit a local distillery.
In the afternoon, arrival at the overnight mooring spot and exploration of a picturesque village inhabited by the Khmu ethnic group.
Simplicity characterizes this village, with its bamboo houses on stilts surrounded by vast rice fields.
Meet people of all ages from the village, all deeply attached to their land and making a living through traditional agriculture.
Discover their daily lives, observe their way of life, and chat with the locals.
Highlight of the visit: participation in a traditional Baci ceremony, a spiritual Lao ritual led by the village elders to bestow their blessings upon you.
On your first evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail with light bites as the sky takes on its final hues over the Mekong River.

The morning continues with a visit to two neighboring traditional villages, where the Lao Loum and Khmu communities have lived side by side for generations, each preserving its traditions in a peaceful atmosphere.
Most of the residents are farmers who grow seasonal crops as well as small vegetable gardens.
In Ban Baw, a few women carry on the meticulous art of weaving cotton and silk.
You’ll have the opportunity to witness a demonstration of this ancestral craft and watch the weavers at work on traditional looms, using methods that have remained unchanged for centuries.
The village is also home to a small temple that plays an important role in the community’s spiritual life.
Those who wish may participate in a short private meditation session alongside the resident monks.
In the afternoon, your guide will give a talk on the richness and diversity of Laos’s ethnic groups living along the Mekong River.
A new discovery awaits you in a remarkable village where three ethnic groups—the Hmong, Lao Loum, and Khmu—live side by side, almost under the same roof.
Each has its own history, traditions, way of life, family structures, and housing styles.
Explore the village and visit a local family’s home, where representatives from each group will highlight their differences and unique aspects of daily life.
Back on board, as the afternoon gives way to evening, head to the lounge for some light refreshments and a review of the next day’s itinerary.
The evening continues with a traditional dance performance on the terrace deck, followed by a barbecue dinner held on a magnificent sandbar, nestled in an exceptional natural setting.
After dinner, enjoy a movie screening in a cozy atmosphere featuring the film “Chiang” (“elephant” in Lao).

Observing these gentle giants in the heart of the tropical forest and discovering their unique history is an unforgettable experience.
After lunch, join a cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare a simple Lao-Thai dish that you can recreate at home.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue sailing to our final mooring spot for the night.
We’ll drop anchor near a magnificent sandbar—a picturesque setting perfect for enjoying a quiet aperitif, ideally accompanied by a stunning sunset.

Breakfast is intentionally lighter, with a limited selection or à la carte options, followed by a varied brunch served later in the day as a prelude to our farewells.
As we sail through the heart of the Golden Triangle, spend your morning relaxing or join a captivating presentation on the complex history of the Golden Triangle.
Discover the various issues related to colonialism, opium, and conflicts, as well as the roles played by Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Great Britain, and China.
Located at the junction of Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos, the Golden Triangle extends extensively across the territories of these three countries.
The name “Golden Triangle” is said to have been coined originally by the CIA to refer to this region.
We then pass the confluence of the Mekong and the Nam Tha River, a major tributary also known as the “Green River.”
From the deck, watch the captain skillfully navigate through the rocks, rapids, and sandbars.
Enjoy the last peaceful hours of the cruise and lunch, served until about an hour before arrival.
