Welcome to Peru, one of the most fascinating countries in South America!
If you have time when you... more+ arrive in Lima, we recommend you take a stroll through the streets to familiarise yourself with the city.
You can also head to the coastal promenade in the upmarket Miraflores district. Here you'll find plenty of cafés and restaurants, as well as shops if you've got a few things to do before embarking on your adventure. Lima has the title of gastronomic capital of Latin America, so be sure to try local specialities such as ceviche, a preparation of raw fish marinated in lime juice with onion and chilli.

After breakfast, you will take part in a city tour of Lima, with lunch included, which will enable... more+ you to discover, among other things, the city's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, brimming with elegant Spanish colonial architecture. You will also visit the fascinating Larco Museum, which houses the best private collection of pre-Columbian art in the country.
After this half-day excursion, you'll have time to explore more of this diverse city. Watch the passers-by in one of the city's main squares, or seek out a restaurant serving regional specialities, before returning to your hotel for the night.

The next morning, you'll fly to Cuzco, the ancient seat of the Inca Empire. A local guide will take... more+ you to check into your hotel, before inviting you on a guided tour of this enigmatic city.
You will discover impressive Inca structures that stand side by side with ornate buildings from the Spanish colonial era in striking contrast. Visit the 15th-century place of worship of Sacsayhuamán or admire the architecture of the Spanish church of Santo Domingo, a convent built on the ruins of Koricancha, the Inca temple of the Sun. After exploring the highlights of this cultural and architectural gem, we return to the hotel for dinner.

Cuzco Inca Valley Ollantaytambo Machu Picchu Cuzco
An early-morning transfer will take you to Ollantaytambo, in the Sacred Valley, where you will take... more+ the train along the narrow railway line to Machu Picchu, through splendid high-altitude landscapes.
It takes around two hours to reach the small town of Aguas Calientes, from where a short bus journey will take you to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Enjoy a guided tour of this once-hidden settlement. Marvel at the stone walls, terraces and ramps carved into the mountain. You'll love the peaceful atmosphere of Machu Picchu, as you gaze at the rainforest below this city that seems to float in the clouds.
After lunch, we'll head back to Cuzco, where you'll spend your last night in a hotel.

Your journey begins in Ecuador, in the lush Andean hills. Situated at an altitude of 2,850 metres, Quito is the second highest capital city in the world. Its main attraction is the Old Town, founded on an ancient Inca settlement. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city boasts superbly preserved colonial architecture, as well as colourful squares, magnificent churches and majestic monuments. Settle into your hotel before exploring the streets of Quito.

Today, you'll take part in a guided tour of Quito's remarkable Old Town, one of the most important... more+ districts of the colonial era, and one of the best preserved in South America. Wander the cobbled streets admiring the architecture and savouring delicious chocolates made with the finest Ecuadorian cocoa.
You will then travel to the emblematic ‘City at the Centre of the World’, less than 26 km north of Quito. After lunch, you'll visit the famous monument marking the imaginary line that is the equator. Get ready to immortalise the moment when you have one foot in each hemisphere.

After breakfast and a quick flight, you'll be on Baltra Island, in the spectacular Galapagos... more+ archipelago. A transfer takes you directly to the port, where your comfortable expedition ship awaits.
Get your first glimpse of the region's incredible wildlife on the small island of Mosquera, home to one of the archipelago's largest sea lion colonies. You'll climb aboard one of our panga boats to get a closer look.
On an excursion over flat, sandy dunes, keep an eye out for blue-footed boobies and red rock crabs, and learn about the marine and terrestrial ecosystems from your expert naturalist guides.

Mosquera Islet Cerro Colorado Cerro Brujo
Your first stop of the day is the Cerro Colorado reserve, a breeding and reproduction centre... more+ dedicated to the endangered giant tortoise. The centre is also home to other endemic species such as the San Cristóbal mockingbird and the lava lizard.
With a life expectancy of over 100 years, the giant tortoise remains probably the most emblematic animal of the Galapagos. Living in forests similar to its natural habitat, the species truly thrives here.
Until August 2024, we will be calling at Cerro Brujo, on the west coast of the island. The island is lined with white coral beaches, so you will literally be following in the footsteps of Darwin, who visited here in 1835. Many seabirds and shorebirds can be seen here, as well as sea lions.
After August 2024*, we'll probably be exploring Punta Pitt in our little panga boats. This is the only place in the Galapagos Islands where you can spot three species of gannet. Take a nature walk, explore the coastline by boat or swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters.

Swim or snorkel from our panga boats, borrow a kayak to paddle around the island or discover the underwater life on board a glass-bottomed boat. After a delicious lunch prepared by our chefs on board, we'll head to South Plaza Island, where you'll have the chance to spot fregatidae, swallow-tailed gulls and Galapagos shearwaters soaring through the sky. In the midst of an incredibly varied flora, watch land iguanas lazing on the sand and marine iguanas swimming at regular intervals.

Today we'll be visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora.
At this giant... more+ tortoise breeding centre, you can admire tortoises that have just hatched, as well as Darwin's famous finches, which inspired the theory of natural selection. You will also discover an impressive forest home to prickly pear cactus and numerous land birds.
Enjoy a cool lunch in the lush highlands, amongst giant tortoises nibbling grass and swimming in pools.
You'll have time for another activity, such as a mountain bike tour or a visit to a sugar plantation.

Española Gardner Bay Santa Cruz Española
Your Galapagos Islands cruise arrives at Española, the southernmost island in the archipelago. The... more+ birdlife here is truly extraordinary, and you can see Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls as well as the mighty Galapagos albatross on cruises from April to December.
Española also offers the chance to see lava lizards, marine iguanas as well as the famous ‘blowhole’, El Soplador, which blows seawater up to 23 metres high.
After lunch on board, we'll head to the beautiful coral beach of Gardner Bay and nearby Osborn Islet to see sea lions, mockingbirds and Darwin's finches. If you fancy a bit of exercise, you're free to go snorkelling or explore the area by kayak.

The wealth of opportunities to observe local wildlife continues on the islet of Eden, where you can... more+ see Galapagos green turtles, rays and harmless reef sharks. On the shore, look out for frigatebirds with their inimitable rubbery red necks.
Take the opportunity to swim or snorkel the reefs, unless you prefer to see the underwater world from our glass-bottomed boat or kayak. After lunch, we set sail for North Seymour Island.
This is an excellent site for observing colonies of blue-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls. Sea lions and marine iguanas also congregate around the island, attracted by its food-rich waters.
