Transfer to your boat, board, and settle in. Begin cruising on the lake. At 200 km long and 40 km wide, the lake has flooded plains, hills, and forests, and its landscapes are now iconic.

Morning safari to discover the Matusadona National Park region, located between the Sanyati and Ume... more+ rivers. Covering an area of over 1,400km², this wild territory is home to numerous species of animals including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and buffalo, as well as thousands of birds including the mythical African fish eagle, majestic yellow-billed storks and the black egret with its amazing fishing technique. And if we're lucky in the heart of the savannah, a feline may cross our path. The park's history is linked to that of the lake: when the waters rose during the construction of the dam, several thousand animals were rescued and taken to Matusadona, where hunting is strictly forbidden. This was the gigantic “Operation Noah”, which saved large mammals, fawns and impalas. Lunch on board. Resumption of navigation and round-table discussion on the history of the lake, its inhabitants and ecosystem. Dinner and overnight on board.

On the way to the airport, visit the “dam wall,”... more+ the massive dam that diverted the Zambezi River to create the lake in 1955 and which today supplies nearly 70% of Zimbabwe’s electricity. You’ll hear the story of how this lake was created, along with the legends surrounding it, including that of Nyami Nyami, the spirit of the river.

Lunch cruise on the Zambezi River upstream from the falls. In the afternoon, explore Victoria Falls on foot: its many viewpoints are among the most exceptional on the planet. We’ll journey out on a safari to discover the area around Matusadona National Park. Bordered by the Sanyati and Ume Rivers, this 1,400km²/540 sq mi-large untouched area is home to numerous animal species such as elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalos as... more+ well as thousands of birds. We might be lucky enough to cross paths with a big cat or two! The history of the park is closely linked with that of the lake: during the construction of the dam, the rising floodwaters affected the native wildlife although the damage was mitigated by Operation Noah, an initiative which saved the lives of over 6,000 animals. This rescue operation allowed for large mammals, big cats, impalas and more to be moved to Matusadona where hunting is strictly prohibited.
