Cartagena is the most touristic city of Colombia, and for good reason. Main port at the time of the conquistadors, it was the turntable of gold traffic, goods and slaves. Its colonial center, balconies crumbling under the bougainvillea, is the finest in the country. The city, its monuments and its fortress are listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. It is also here that an address known as the writer of the country, Gabriel García Márquez.
