With one third of the city covered with water, marine life is of course a strong component of Stockholm, which has many bridges, marinas and locks. The water is so clean that you can actually fish for salmon a few minutes walk from the city center. The climate is heavily dependent on sea winds; even the hottest summer day will be tempered by fresh sea breezes.
