In the evening, the ship leaves the Austrian capital and sails for Melk. Overnight on board.

Full board on board. Today we arrive in Melk, a small town in the heart of the impressive Wachau... more+ Valley. It's world-famous for its Benedictine abbey on top of a rock overlooking the river. At midday, the boat sets sail for Dürnstein, where we arrive after lunch. Dürnstein is a charming village in the heart of the winding Wachau valley, with a medieval castle. From the pier, you can walk directly into the historic town center, passing through the medieval town gates and reaching the Pranger square. From here, there's a fine view of the castle ruins, famous as the place where Richard the Lionheart is said to have been imprisoned. In the afternoon, enjoy the scenery of the magnificent Wachau Valley as you sail towards Budapest. Overnight on board.

Early in the morning, we arrive in Esztergom, the former Hungarian capital.... more+ It's a small town of 28,000 inhabitants about 45 kilometers from Budapest, famous for housing the country's largest basilica (bigger than the capital's St. Stephen's Basilica), 118 meters high and 49 meters wide, which took 47 years to build. It was inaugurated in 1869. It is currently the headquarters of the Catholic Church in Hungary. Esztergom was Hungary's capital between the 10th and 13th centuries, before moving to Buda. In the early afternoon, we embark for Bratislava. Overnight on board (on 12/25 and 01/01 the Basilica will be closed).
