Meet-and-greet upon arrival and assistance with entry formalities.
Cairo is the capital of Egypt, also known as Umm al-Dunya (“Mother of the World”). It is the most populous city in Africa. Despite its somewhat dated appearance, which gives the impression of having traveled back in time, one quickly falls in love with the charm of Cairo and its people. The capital is the first stop on your journey through Egypt, as you discover its cultural treasures...

Tour of the Giza Plateau, a symbol of ancient Egypt, featuring the famous pyramids... more+ of:
Cheops (the largest, built around 2650 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to have withstood the test of time. For over 4,000 years, it was the tallest man-made monument, standing at 146 meters,
Khafre, the Pyramid of Khafre appears taller than that of Khufu; in reality, it is slightly shorter, but its steeper slope and its location on slightly higher ground create this illusion,
Mykerinos, the tomb of King Mykerinos, is much smaller than the other two pyramids, standing 66 meters tall,
The Sphinx (a lion with a pharaoh’s head), the enigmatic guardian of the tombs and the temple, faces east to protect the tombs from looters. It measures 73 meters long and 20 meters high and was carved from a single block of stone.
Visit a perfume shop where the scents will enchant you, as will the blown-glass bottles.
Then you’ll stop at a papyrus workshop, where you’ll watch a demonstration of how it’s made.
The papyrus stalk is peeled and then cut into strips, which are then soaked in water for 6 hours to soften them. They are then interwoven and pressed. The sugar and starch contained in the stems solidify the whole into a flexible and durable material, reputed to be tear-resistant. Once dry, the papyrus is ready to serve as a medium for writing or painting.
Lunch during the excursion.
Visit to the new GREAT CAIRO MUSEUM (Grand Egyptian Museum or GEM).
Announced in 1992, construction of the museum began in 2005, and it officially opened its doors on November 1, 2025.
The museum houses a collection of Egyptian artifacts from various periods of Egyptian civilization. It is estimated to contain over 100,000 artifacts, at least 20,000 of which are on display for the first time.
The complete collection of Tutankhamun’s treasure is on display for the first time in a single location: 5,398 pieces presented in a dedicated 7,500 m² space.

Departure for a cruise down the Nile to visit the Theban Necropolis.
The Valley of the Kings, where you will visit two kings’ tombs and one queen’s tomb.
Starting with the 18th Dynasty and throughout the New Kingdom, pharaohs would no longer be buried in temples or monuments dedicated to their final journey. It was on the other side of the Nile, on the west bank—the Land of the Afterlife—that Thutmose I and all the pharaohs who succeeded him chose to be buried. Gone were the colossal monuments like the pyramids, or even the mastabas used during the Old Kingdom; instead, there were tombs carved directly into the rock, their entrances meticulously sealed and concealed. The main motivation was undoubtedly to escape tomb raiders.
Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the only funerary monuments of Amenhotep III. Known for their imposing architecture, these ruins have been visited by emperors and travelers throughout the ages. Standing 18 meters tall and weighing 1,300 tons, they were named the Colossi of Memnon by the Greeks due to the legend of the Oracle of Memnon.
Lunch on board.
OPTIONAL: Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu (included in the “EXCURSION PACKAGE 1” at €75).
Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu.
Medinet Habu is the Arabic name for the site that the Egyptians called Djem.
The mortuary temple of Ramses III is the finest example of monumental art under the Ramessides. The last great builder of ancient Egypt, the pharaoh undertook the reopening of major construction sites abandoned since the time of Ramses II, and had the vast royal temple of Medinet Habu built south of the Theban necropolis.
Ramses III had his Palace of Millions of Years built—the most significant complex of ancient Egyptian ruins after Karnak—on the site of one of the earliest centers of Theban religion, closely associated with the cult of Amun.

Lunch is served on board before setting off to discover the majestic Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, one of the largest and best preserved in ancient Egypt. Built in 237 BC under Ptolemy III and completed almost two centuries later under Ptolemy XII, this temple was erected on the site of a sanctuary dedicated to Thutmes III. It honours Horus, the falcon-headed god and son of Isis and Osiris. The entrance is via an imposing pylon decorated with reliefs representing the king and the gods, giving access to a vast courtyard whose walls record the rites performed by the sovereign. At the entrance, two majestic black granite falcons, symbols of the god Horus, stand guard.
Back on board, the cruise continues towards Kom Ombo. In the evening, dinner and overnight on the boat, lulled by the gentle flow of the Nile.

Kom Ombo Aswan

Visit to the Ptolemaic Temple of Kom Ombo.
“Two temples united within a... more+ single temple, a unique feature in Ancient Egypt”
It was built during the Ptolemaic period (Ptolemaic dynasty, Greco-Roman era) on the site of a New Kingdom temple (dedicated to Thutmose III, 18th Dynasty). It stands atop a hill overlooking the Nile from a height of 15 meters.
Its most striking feature is that it is dedicated to two distinct deities: the falcon god HAROERIS, “HORUS the Great,” sometimes called “HORUS the Elder,” and SOBEK, the crocodile god. Everything in this temple is dual: it has two entrances, two parallel corridors, and halls symmetrically arranged on either side of these corridors, all converging at the double sanctuary.
On the esplanade in front of the entrance, carved columns reveal shimmering colors. The small building to the right of the entrance is the Chapel of Hathor, which houses several crocodile mummies.

Let yourself be lulled by the breeze as you glide through the calm, blue waters of the ancient Nile. After the construction of the Aswan High Dam by Nasser in the 1960s, Philae Island, upstream from the First Cataract of the Nile, was completely submerged. With the support of UNESCO, work was undertaken to dismantle the monuments of Philae piece by piece and reassemble them on the neighboring island, 400 meters downstream. Philae was entirely dedicated to Isis; this temple from the Ptolemaic period (Ptolemaic dynasty, Greco-Roman era) has preserved its Naos, the stone tabernacle that housed the statue of the deity.

Gold, silver, and semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli abound in jewelry featuring scarabs, Ankh symbols, cartouches, the Eye of Horus, and more.

Luxor: ancient Thebes, the city of the hundred gates of the god Amun, capital... more+ of Upper Egypt and of the entire country during the 18th Dynasty.
The day will be devoted to visiting one of the two world-famous temples, both dedicated to the god Amun-Re, the master of the gods and Lord of the Theban Triad:
The Temple of Karnak.
The most theologically significant structure ever built here over 2,000 years, the faith of the people paid homage to the same god: Amun. The greatest kings (Seti I, Ramses II, Thutmose III, Ramses III) succeeded one another here. The name “Karnak,” meaning “fortress,” dates back to the Islamic conquest.
Visit to an alabaster carving workshop.
In ancient Egypt, alabaster was highly prized, used for everyday items such as vases for ointments or perfumes, but also for canopic jars, which held the organs of the deceased, removed during the mummification ritual. It is easy to work with and produces objects of beautiful transparency; when cut into thin sheets, alabaster is transparent enough to be used as glass for small windows.
OPTIONAL: Visit to the Luxor Temple (included in the “EXCURSION PACKAGE 1” at €75).
Visit to the Temple of Luxor.
It was built to glorify the god Amun-Re, who celebrated the anniversary of his marriage with his wife Mut each year. The procession departed from the Temple of Karnak and followed the banks of the Nile to reach the Temple of Luxor. The construction of the latter dates back to the reigns of the two pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Two obelisks adorned the entrance: they were gifted to France in 1831 by Mehmet Ali; one remains in situ, while the other stands in Place de la Concorde in Paris.
