Cairo
Breakfast. Visit to the Giza Plateau, symbol of ancient Egypt, with the famous pyramids of: Cheops... see+ (the largest, built around 2650 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to have stood the test of time. For more than 40 centuries, it was the tallest monument built by man, with a height of 146 meters. The Pyramid of Khafre appears taller than that of Khufu, but in reality it is slightly shorter; it is its more pronounced angle of inclination and its location on slightly higher ground that give this impression.
Mycerinus, tomb of King Mycerinus, is much smaller than the other two pyramids, with a height of 66 meters. The Sphinx (lion with a mast top of Pharaoh), enigmatic guardian of the tombs and the temple, faces east to protect the tombs from looters. It is 73 meters long and 20 meters high and was carved from a single block of stone. Visit a perfume shop where you will be enchanted by the scents and the blown glass bottles. Then you will stop at a papyrus institute, where you will watch a demonstration of how it is made.
The papyrus stem is peeled and cut into strips, which are then soaked in water for 6 hours to soften them. They are then intertwined and placed under a press. The sugar and starch contained in the stems solidify the whole thing into a flexible and resistant material, renowned for being tear-proof. Once dry, the papyrus is ready to be used as a medium for writing or painting. Lunch during the excursion.
Visit to the new GRAND CAIRO MUSEUM (Grand Egyptian Museum or GEM). Announced in 1992, construction of the museum began in 2005 and it officially opened its doors on November 1, 2025. The museum houses a collection of Egyptian artifacts from different periods of Egyptian civilization. It is estimated to contain more than 100,000 objects, at least 20,000 of which are on display for the first time. The complete collection of Tutankhamun's treasure is on display for the first time in one place: 5,398 pieces presented in a dedicated space of 7,500 m². Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Cairo Luxor
Breakfast. Departure for Cairo airport and flight to Luxor. Arrival in Luxor and transfer to the... see+ side of your cruise ship. Departure for the crossing of the Nile to visit the Theban Necropolis. The Valley of the Kings, where you will visit two tombs of kings and one of a queen.
From the 18th dynasty onwards, and throughout the New Kingdom, the pharaohs were no longer buried in temples or monuments dedicated to their final journey. It was on the other side of the Nile, on the west bank, the land of the Afterlife, that Thutmose I and all the pharaohs who succeeded him decided to be buried. Gone were the colossal monuments such as the pyramids, and even the mastabas used during the Old Kingdom, replaced by vaults carved into the rock, whose entrances were carefully sealed and camouflaged. The main motivation was undoubtedly to escape tomb robbers.
Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the only funerary monuments of Amenhotep III. Known for their imposing architecture, these ruins have been visited by emperors and travelers throughout the ages. Standing 18 m high and weighing 1,300 mastheads, they were named the Colossi of Memnon by the Greeks because of the legend of the Oracle of Memnon.
Lunch on the side of the boat. OPTIONAL: Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu (included in the "EXCURSION PACKAGE 1" package). Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu. Medinet Habu is the Arabic name for the site that the Egyptians called Djémé.
The funerary temple of Ramses III is the most accomplished example of monumental art under the Ramessids. The last great builder of ancient Egypt, the pharaoh undertook the reopening of the major construction sites abandoned since Ramses II and built the vast royal temple of Medinet Habu, south of the Theban necropolis.
Ramses III had his Castle of Millions of Years built, the most significant complex of ancient Egyptian ruins after Karnak, on the site of one of the earliest sites of the Theban religion, closely associated with the cult of Amun. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

Lunch is served on board before setting off to discover the majestic Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, one of the largest and best preserved in ancient Egypt. Built in 237 BC under Ptolemy III and completed almost two centuries later under Ptolemy XII, this temple was erected on the site of a sanctuary dedicated to Thutmes III. It honours Horus, the falcon-headed god and son of Isis and Osiris. The entrance is via an imposing pylon decorated with reliefs representing the king and the gods, giving access to a vast courtyard whose walls record the rites performed by the sovereign. At the entrance, two majestic black granite falcons, symbols of the god Horus, stand guard.
Back on board, the cruise continues towards Kom Ombo. In the evening, dinner and overnight on the boat, lulled by the gentle flow of the Nile.

Kom Ombo Assouan
After breakfast on board, departure for the fascinating Ptolemaic temple of Kom Ombo, a unique site... see+ in ancient Egypt. Perched on a hill 15 metres above the Nile, this exceptional temple is distinguished by its dual dedication: to Haroeris (*Horus the Great* or *Horus the Ancient*), the falcon god, and to Sobek, the fearsome crocodile god. This duality is reflected throughout the temple's architecture, with two entrances, two parallel corridors and symmetrically organised rooms leading to a double sanctuary. In front of the entrance, sculpted columns still bear traces of their original colours, testifying to the splendour of the Ptolemaic period. To the right of the temple, the chapel of Hathor houses a number of crocodile mummies, a reminder of the importance of the cult of Sobek in the region.
Back on board, lunch is served as the cruise resumes towards Aswan. Take advantage of this navigation to admire the peaceful landscapes of the Nile. In the evening, dinner and overnight on board, in the spellbinding atmosphere of the sacred river.

After breakfast on board, departure for a visit to the temple of Philae, a jewel set on the island... see+ of Agilka, nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Nile’. This sanctuary, entirely dedicated to the goddess Isis, was saved from the waters after the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s. Thanks to a major UNESCO project, the monuments on the ancient island of Philae were dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt 400 metres downstream. This Ptolemaic temple has retained its Naos, the stone tabernacle that once housed the statue of the deity.
After this fascinating visit, a stop at a jeweller's gives you the chance to discover Egyptian craftsmanship, where gold, silver and semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli are worked into magnificent jewellery inspired by ancient symbols: scarabs, Ankhs, cartouches and the eye of Horus.

Luxor: ancient Thebes, the city of a hundred gates of the god... see+ Amun, capital of Upper Egypt and the entire country during the 18th dynasty. The day will be devoted to visiting one of two world-famous temples, both dedicated to the god Amun-Re, master of the gods and lord of the Theban triad: the Temple of Karnak.
The most theological ever built here over 2,000 years, the faith of men paid homage to the same god: Amun. The greatest kings (Seti I, Ramses II, Thutmose III, Ramses III) succeeded one another here. The name "Karnak," which means "fortress," dates back to the Islamic conquest.
Visit to an alabaster carving workshop. In ancient Egypt, alabaster was highly prized and used for everyday accessories such as ointment and perfume jars, but also for canopic jars, which contained the organs of the deceased, extracted during the mummification ritual. It is easy to work with and produces objects of beautiful transparency. Cut into thin sheets, alabaster is transparent enough to be used as glass for small windows. OPTIONAL: Visit to Luxor Temple (included in the "EXCURSION PACK 1" package).
Visit to Luxor Temple. It was built to glorify the god Amun-Ra, who celebrated his wedding anniversary each year with his wife Mut. The procession left the Temple of Karnak and followed the banks of the Nile to Luxor. The latter was built during the reign of the two pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Two obelisks adorned the entrance: they were given to France in 1831 by Mehemet Ali; one is still in situ, the other stands in Place de la Concorde in Paris. Lunch on board. Free afternoon. Dinner and night on board.
