Fancy taking to the open sea in a boat? Whether for a day or much longer, find out how easy it is to arrange a yacht charter with Filovent. Simple and intuitive, booking a motorboat has never been easier.
For your first sailing experience, a motor yacht charter will be perfect for you. They are easier to maneuver than sailboats and offer a different sensation of speed. Propulsion is provided exclusively by one or more engines, allowing you to cover long distances more quickly. In addition, the shallow draft facilitates navigation in shallow waters and allows you to berth in areas that are difficult for a sailboat to access.
In terms of regulations, anyone going out to sea in a boat with an engine power exceeding 6 HP will require a navigation license. It is also important to remember that fuel consumption can vary enormously depending on the model of motorboat.
So, to satisfy your desires with a RIB, bowrider, day cruiser boat, cabin cruiser boat or even a cruising houseboat, discover our wide range for your next trip out to sea and opt for a motor yacht charter. Are you a fan of water sports? We have thought of everything, and you can enjoy a range of water sports such as tubing, water skiing and wakeboarding for all to enjoy.

Inboard or outboard motorization?
There are two types of motorization for a motorboat: inboard and outboard. In the first case, the engine is located inside the boat, either in a hold or in the engine room. Similarly, the rudder and transmission as well as other equipment are located in the hull of the boat. Thus, none of this equipment is visible on the boat. Conversely, in an outboard motor, the engine, transmission and rudder are compact and located at the rear of the boat.
Yacht charter: the different types of boats
There are many categories of motorboats and they can sometimes be difficult to differentiate. To help you, the Filovent team offers you a description of the different types of boats that we have available. This way, motorized boats will hold no more secrets for you!
RIBs – inflatable boats
The RIB can have a soft or semi-rigid bottom, as its name suggests. It has inflatable tubes, also known as floats. In most cases, the RIB is used as a dinghy. It has an outboard motor.
Bowriders
The bowrider is a boat with an open deck and no cockpit or cabin. It is perfectly suited for a day of coastal sailing. As with RIBs, it has an outboard motor.
Day cruiser boats
A day cruiser is a motorboat with a small cabin, a bathroom and a kitchenette. This type of boat is ideal for a day out in the sun. Depending on the model, it can be outboard or inboard.
Cabin cruiser boats
The cabin cruiser boat is a sort of in-between. Similar to day cruiser boats, the cabin for resting is much larger and more comfortable. It has sunbathing mattresses at the front or rear of the boat, depending on the model. This type of boat can measure between 7 and 14 meters, for the larger ones, classified in the category of yachts. It is suitable for coastal navigation and a cruise of a few days. Its motorization system is generally inboard, but it is not uncommon to see outboards.
Cruising houseboats
The cruising houseboat is a boat known for its optimal comfort, consisting of one or more cabins and a spacious living area. It is perfect for a comfortable cruise. This type of boat has inboard engines to ensure power and speed.
