The best places to sail in Croatia
Croatia is one of the most popular maritime destinations in Europe, and for good reason… The Adriatic Sea hauls in alongside the country for hundreds of kilometers, from Pula to Dubrovnik. So you'll have no problem finding anchorage areas all along the coast. The Filovent team recommends renting a cabin cruiser boat or a cruising houseboat so you can set off for several days and drop anchor in one of Croatia's many ports. You can easily leave from Pula or Rijeka and head for Zadar on the Dalmatian coast. Continue your sailing itinerary to Split, known for its sumptuous beaches, but on the way, stop at Šibenik to discover its 15th-century cathedral with its 71 sculpted faces. Finally, for the more adventurous, you can finish your motorboat cruise in Dubrovnik, to discover its old town surrounded by huge stone ramparts.
When to go to Croatia?
Croatia has a Mediterranean climate, with plenty of sunshine for vacationers to enjoy. We recommend going between May and September, but if you prefer to avoid the summer crowds, you can also go to Croatia in spring or fall, and enjoy some peace and quiet. In spring and fall, temperatures are pleasant, around 22°C, while in summer they can exceed 32°C.
