When to go on a cruise to the Maldives?
If the Maldives are such a popular destination, it is surely because of its tropical climate. Here the sun reigns and it is warm all year round, with temperatures varying between 25 and 34°.
The monsoon governs the tropical climate and defines the two main seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. From May to November, the wet season is punctuated by rain that regularly turns away from the wind. Then the sun takes over from January to March, much to your delight!
Even though temperatures are stable all year round, we recommend that you travel between December and April to get the most out of your cruise in the Maldives. The sun will be at its peak and the sea calm, giving you the best underwater visibility.
A cruise to the Maldives: the place to be for diving enthusiasts
Although the Maldives are renowned for their heavenly beaches and the gradation of blue in the water, they are also well known to all as a paradise for scuba diving. Its seabed is absolutely exceptional and unique. Unlike the climate, there is no "best time" to go diving in the Maldives, due to the clarity of the water. However, some people may want to avoid the monsoon rain, but the seabed can be explored at any time of the year. The unique flora and fauna that live in these crystal-clear waters will never cease to amaze you!
Whether you're snorkeling or diving with an oxygen tank, you'll have the chance to come across many aquatic species. The richness of the Maldives seabed is absolutely exceptional. And for good reason, there are more than 240 varieties of coral and more than 1,000 species of fish, not to mention turtles! A real playground for everyone.
You will be able to see extremely well-preserved coral gardens in bright colors and cross the path of manta rays, turtles and myriads of colorful fish. If you are lucky, you might even see a few sharks! From the deck of your catamaran, it is not uncommon to sail with dolphins.
