Types of boats for rent in Belize:
Depending on your budget, nautical experience, and travel plans, several types of boats are available to you:
- Sailing catamaran rental: this is an inexpensive alternative, particularly suitable for family trips, seeking comfort. The catamaran offers stability and interior space, to feel at home.
- Motor catamaran rental: this is a slightly more expensive alternative than the sailing catamaran. The engine will allow you to never lack speed, and you will have more ease in performing certain maneuvers.
- Yacht rental: this is the most expensive alternative. It's the perfect choice for people who love luxury and want to enjoy first-class service, thanks to the full crew included in the rental.
Services offered for your boat rental in Belize
We offer 3 different services for your boat rental in Belize:
- Boat rental without skipper: a member of your crew simply needs to have a valid boating license to be authorized to be the skipper of your trip! The boat will be completely private and you can enjoy your cruise in Belize with family or friends.
- Boat rental with skipper: this is the perfect type of service if no member of your crew has the skills to skipper the catamaran or if you want to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The professional skipper will take care of piloting the boat and will advise you on the best places to anchor and the tasty local spots of the destination.
- Boat rental with crew: this type of service will be included on all yachts and on some luxury catamarans, and will be optional for other boats. A crew is generally composed of a skipper, a cook and a hostess. For smaller boats, it will consist of a skipper and a deckhand. The crew will take great care and ensure that you experience a magical cruise!

We recommend taking our cancellation insurance for your boat rental in Belize. It will protect all your loved ones in case of withdrawal for compelling reasons, whereas individual cancellation insurance or via your credit card will only cover its holder.

- Wippari Cay, to the east, also attracts cruisers with its turquoise halo and crystal-clear waters perfect for fishing and snorkeling to observe the world's second-largest barrier reef.

Sailing conditions in Belize
Belize presents favorable conditions for sailing, especially during the dry season. In summary: calm waters, winds that blow enough to carry your boat, without being too powerful…
Belize's winds are trade winds and blow from the east, at a speed varying between 15 and 22 knots on average.
However, one factor can make navigation difficult: the shallow depth of the waters. In addition, Belizean nautical charts are sometimes not up to date, and don't always take into account coral patches, which are newer than rocks but just as dangerous for the integrity of your hull. It is therefore highly recommended to sail with the sun overhead, or behind you, to have good visibility on reefs and corals.
There are also 2 additional warning points to note:
- Navigation near Tom Owens island is not recommended, as it is quite complicated due to the large number of reefs around it
- It is advisable to have very good nautical experience, or even to be accompanied by a local skipper if you wish to sail beyond the barrier reef. Even when well accompanied, crossing it is not recommended, because of the Atlantic Ocean swell.

How to get to Belize?
To reach your departure base in Placencia, Placencia Airport (PLJ) will do just fine. However, no flights are available from Paris, even with stopovers. An overnight stopover in Miami may sometimes be necessary.

When we receive your rental request, an advisor will contact you by phone to understand your sailing project. They will then send you boat proposals by email. Once the boat is found, you can pay a deposit on your customer area to validate the rental and secure the boat.
