Optional Authentic / Experience Excursion: Visit to Melk Abbey (only available with advance... more+ reservation before departure). A masterpiece of Baroque architecture, the abbey overlooks the stunning Wachau Valley. The ochre color of its grand façade recalls the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The interior is equally impressive, featuring magnificent Baroque frescoes and a library containing nearly 100,000 volumes, including some of the most precious manuscripts from the Middle Ages. Return on board and sail towards Dürnstein, arriving in the early afternoon. Free time in this small medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its architectural heritage. The village is full of curiosities, such as the elegant Baroque bell tower of the Dürnstein church, the medieval and Renaissance façades of the town hall, and the colorful houses along the main street.

In the evening, optional Authentic / Experience Excursion: "Vienna by Night" tour. A true open-air museum, the capital reveals its illuminated splendor. The façades shine with grandeur. The Musikverein takes on a new dimension under the lights, and the opera house reveals its interior scenery through lighting effects. On Schwarzenbergplatz, you'll see the gilded bronze statue of Johann Strauss and many other monuments such as the Hofburg Palace and the Augustinian Church. You'll enjoy this different side of Vienna.

Visit to Budapest’s Great Market Hall. Walk to the Grand Market Hall. With its sparkling Zsolnay tiled roof, it is the largest market hall built in the 19th century. Departure by coach in company of your host/hostess towards Melk Abbey. We will meet up with our guides in the inner courtyard to start our visit. The Abbey overlooking the Danube was first built as the Babenberg's fortified castle. It was founded in the 11th... more+ century and the current buildings of the Benedictine abbey date from the Baroque era and were designed by architect Jakob Prandtauer. Melk Abbey now houses a museum in which you'll discover several rooms that have been enhanced thanks to architecture, sound and light as well as the use of various types of media. Computer animations will tell you a story about the construction of the edifices. You will also visit the marble hall, the world famous library and the bedchambers where a number of illustrious visitors have slept. Return on board by coach. PLEASE NOTE Good walking shoes are recommended: from the parking lot to the entrance of the Abbey there are stairs and a 500m cobblestone path. The city is indivisible from the Rhône river and the surrounding hills. The... more+ Allobrogi people are thought to have made it their capital, but it was in the Roman era that the city began to prosper on both banks. You will see the Antique Theatre; built roughly between 40 and 50 AD, it is considered one of the largest in the Roman empire, with its 130m diameter and 13,000 spectators capacity. Restored in 1938, it was returned to its original function and is now a venue for artistic events. The tour will continue with the Temple of Augustus and Livia (exterior only). This temple dedicated to Rome and Augustus stood in a sacred area on the forum and has carried this name since the end of the 18th century. Its construction began about 20-10 BC; it was later transformed at the beginning of the Middle Ages into a church, and was finally restored in the second half of the 19th century thanks to the intervention of Prosper Mérimée. Finally, to complete the tour, you will see the Cathedral of St Maurice (exterior only), which has been listed as a historic monument since 1840. We will walk round the castle quarter and on to the Fisherman's Bastion, built in neo-Roman style in 1902 for the simple pleasure of offering a panoramic view over the city and the Danube.
