Full-day excursion included: Colmar and the wine route with typical lunch. Departure by coach to... more+ Colmar, one of Alsace's most charming towns. The birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty, Colmar is an incredible city of art, history and heritage. The city is a feast for the eyes as you stroll through its narrow streets. You'll see the Quai de la Poissonnerie, once home to most of the town's professional fishermen, who joined forces with the boatmen to form a powerful guild, the Tanneurs district and the picturesque Petite Venise, Colmar's jewel in the crown, with its typically Alsatian half-timbered houses lining the river. Continuation to Obernai. Lunch stop en route. In the afternoon, visit Obernai, a medieval town ideally situated on the wine route. This fortified town, surrounded by its ancient ramparts, is full of charm. A predominance of half-timbered houses in shimmering colors lends the town center its elegance. The town hall, the six-bucket well and the Sainte-Odile fountain on the famous market square are all jewels in the town's crown. A special feature of which Obernai is proud and which sets it apart is its 60 m-high Belfry. It's unique in Alsace. We then return to the boat at Schœnau.
