Lunch in a restaurant. Cordoba, once the capital of Emirs and Caliphs, on the north bank of the Guadalquivir, is a living example of the diverse cultures that have found expression here. A successful harmony between Muslims, Jews and Catholics, who left their mark on the city with an incomparable architectural wealth. The superb Mezquita (mosque-cathedral) is undoubtedly the emblem of this past splendor. Afternoon at leisure. Return on board to Seville. Evening at leisure in Seville.

Seville is a landmark of Spanish history, with joy and excitement in every street and square of its... more+ old town. The heart of Andalusia, Seville has inherited many architectural gems from its rich past.
Morning optional excursions:
- Authentic: Seville and the Alcazar. Departure by coach for the Plaza de España, Spain's homage to America. Admire the mosaic benches representing the Spanish provinces and the four bridges crossing the canal, representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. Continue on to the Santa Cruz district, with its typically Sevillian flower-filled patios, the old Jewish quarter renowned for the charm of its steep streets and shady squares. Then discover the Alcazar, a veritable oasis in the heart of Seville, with its palaces and extraordinary gardens where generations of monarchs have left their mark. Finally, you'll reach the cathedral, still one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world.
- Experience: Seville Tapas tour. Walk to the Santa Cruz district, Seville's historic center. You'll discover the Spanish art of living by sampling the famous "tapas", an assortment of small salty appetizers. Originally a simple aperitif to accompany drinks, tapas have become increasingly elaborate over time.
Return on board late morning. Afternoon sailing to Isla Minima. We'll sail past Doñana Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and Sanlucar de Barrameda.
Excursion included: visit to a genuine Andalusian hacienda and horse show. The estate was acquired in the mid-20th century by the Escobar family. Ideally situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir, the marshy land was ideal for breeding fighting bulls, horses and growing rice. The owner put all his imagination and affection into creating a model farmhouse. Today, you can admire the lime, ochre and wrought iron of the farmhouse on the Isla Mínima estate, where the bullring, known to connoisseurs as "La Pequeña Maestranza", is located just a few metres from the banks of the Guadalquivir. After the show, sail to Cadiz. Lively evening. Night sail to El Puerto de Santa Maria.

The port of Santa Maria Jerez de la Frontera Cadiz
In the morning, optional authentic excursion/experience: Jerez, horse show and wine tasting in a... more+ bodega. Panoramic tour of the city. Located close to the coast, Jerez is a lively, opulent town that grew rich on the wine trade. What's more, its equestrian and flamenco traditions have long since spread beyond its borders. You'll then visit a stud farm housing magnificent Andalusian horses and watch a show showcasing the equestrian art for which the country is famous. Then wine tasting in a bodega.
Sailing to Cadiz.
In the afternoon, optional excursions:
- Authentic: visit Cadiz and its cathedral. Departure by coach for a panoramic tour of Cadiz. You'll get a glimpse of the city's rich culture and history, as well as the beauty of its bay. The old town is home to the city's most typical quarters, with superb Baroque churches and elegant stately homes, many of which feature facades painted in delicate pastel colors and wrought-iron balconies. You can also visit the cathedral, a magnificent Baroque and neoclassical edifice.
- Experience: Cadiz, stroll along the seafront to the San Sebastian fortress. Enjoy the charm of a city bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. The walk offers a beautiful view of the city, its dome and typical Spanish architecture. The walk is complemented by a tasting of local products.
Optional authentic excursion/experience: flamenco evening. Depart on foot for a flamenco evening. Flamenco (cante flamenco) is an art form created by the Gypsy and Andalusian people, based on popular folklore from the various cultures that flourished over the centuries in Spain. Immerse yourself in one of Spain's greatest traditions.

Sailing on the Guadiana to Alcoutim. By the time you wake up, you'll have reached the Guadiana... more+ River. It has retained its wild beauty, with only a few hamlets scattered here and there revealing human activity. Its gentle curves and soothing landscapes inspire tranquillity. You'll arrive in Alcoutim mid-morning. Set on a hillside in a curve of the river, time seems to stand still. Feel free to stroll through this centuries-old town of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. Free time. Sailing to Huelva, which we reach in the evening. A lively evening.

In the morning, optional authentic excursion/experience: the park of Christopher Columbus'... more+ caravels. Depart for a guided tour of the Gothic-Mudejar Franciscan monastery, built between the 14th and 15th centuries. Christopher Columbus stayed here while planning his departure for the New World. A fresco by Daniel Vázquez Díaz dating from 1930 illustrates the navigator's epic and recalls his historic role. Over the centuries, new buildings enlarged the monastery. Then on to the Caravelles Park in Huelva, from where the great explorer set sail on August 3, 1492. The site is home to life-size replicas of La Pinta, La Niña and La Santa Maria, the three ships of Christopher Columbus' expedition.

Day trip included: a day exploring Granada. Departure by coach to Granada (driving time: 3h one way... more+ and 3h return). On arrival, you'll visit the Alhambra, one of the major monuments of Moorish architecture and the most majestic medieval acropolis in the Mediterranean world. You'll continue with a visit to the Generalife, once the summer residence of the Nasrid princes, and its wonderfully designed 14th-century gardens. Lunch in a downtown restaurant. In the afternoon, free time to visit the Albacyin district at your own pace, with its magnificent views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada. Return to Seville by coach.

Departure by coach from Seville for an excursion to Córdoba. Córdoba is ideal for those who like to eat well, explore on foot, hang out in old bodegas and relish architectural wonders. The city center needs no introduction, for its fame is... more+ widespread: the magnificent Mezquita, a symbol of worldly and sophisticated Islamic culture, reigns over the town and pulls thousands of tourists into its arched interior every day. The streets of the Jewish Quarter branch out from the great mosque and emerge onto peaceful plazas. The ruins of Medinat al-Zahra, to the west of town, stir the imagination with its mystery and grandeur. We'll have lunch in a local restaurant. Seville & the Alcazar
Departure by coach for the excursion to Seville. We will begin the tour at the Plaza de España, decorated with azulejos and built especially for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. The square forms a semicircle 200 meters in diameter, symbolizing Spain... more+ welcoming its former colonies. It faces the Guadalquivir River, representing the path to the Atlantic Ocean and America. A single building runs along its entire curved side. In the center of the square is a fountain (designed by Vicente Traver, a Valencian architect). Between the center and the palace are semicircular canals, spanned by four bridges, representing the four former queens of Spain. You will continue the tour through the charming Santa Cruz district, where it is very pleasant to stroll past the typical Sevillian flower-filled patios. Formerly the Jewish quarter, located within the old city walls, it is part of the historic heart of the city and is adjacent to the most famous monuments of the Andalusian capital. A place of art and history, the district dates back to the Middle Ages and is steeped in legends, churches, and palaces that bear witness to its past. Developed in the early 20th century, it is now one of Seville's most iconic neighborhoods. It is particularly renowned for its charming steep streets and shaded squares. Next, discoverthe Alcazar, home to the King of Spain and one of the oldest royal palaces in Europe. A fortress and Moorish residence,the Alcazaba (the old Arab quarter) is a sublime example of the Mudejar style, showcasing a masterful combination of Moorish techniques and Christian symbols. Finally, you will end this comprehensive tour of Seville with a visit to its cathedral, one of the last Gothic-style cathedrals. The building was constructed on the site of an Almohad mosque, with the aim of symbolizing, through a prestigious monument, the prosperity of the Andalusian capital, which became a major trading city after the Reconquista. Visit to Jerez
We will depart from El Puerto de Santa Maria for our excursion in Jerez. Jerez has been renowned for its wines, flamenco, horses and bull ranching. A panoramic tour by coach will enable you to see the cathedral which was built in 1695 over the ruins of the... more+ old Jerez mosque and the former Salvador Church. The bell tower outside was probably built over the mosque's minaret. The rectangular temple has five naves and houses a latin cross structure. Afterwards, we'll discover the Alcazar which still displays a large amount of features from its early construction in the 12th century by the Almohads. After the city fell into the hands of Alfonso X, it became the house of Sevillian Caliphs and the headquarters of Christian governers. We'll return on board. Cadiz, hiking by the sea
Walk along the oceanfront to the Castle of San Sebastián. According to legend, the Temple of Kronos (a Titan of the Greek gods) was first built here. A chapel was built in the 1400s by Venetian boat crews and the irregular, fortified castle found on... more+ the site now was built in 1706. It defended the northern section of the city from attack. Because of its unique shape and décor, it has served as backdrop for many films. We'll return via the city's historic center and authentic neighborhoods, admiring the elegant homes painted in glorious pastel colors and decked out with ironwork balconies. Flamenco evening in Cadiz
After dinner, departure on foot for a Flamenco evening. Flamenco (cante flamenco) is an art created by the Gypsy and Andalusian peoples based on popular folklore born from the various cultures which flourished throughout the centuries in Spain. Originally,... more+ Flamenco was simply a capella vocals (cante). Its first genre, la toná, was forged in the geographical triangle formed by Triana, Jerez and Cádiz. Only later did the hand-clapping (palmas), the dancing (el baile) and the guitar (toque) appear. Dancing and guitar can now often be found alone, although vocals are still considered at the heart of the tradition. More recently, instruments such as the cajon (a percussion instrument from Peru), the palillos (castanets), and the bass guitar were added. Immerse yourself in the most famous Spanish tradition, this mixture of vocals, guitar and dance in which Arab, Oriental and Gypsy influences mingle. Return to the boat.
