What is the solidarity tax on airline tickets, and how does it affect the price of my cruise?

The Solidarity Tax on Airline Tickets (TSBA) is an international tax levied directly on the price of flights departing from nine countries, including France. In short, it can affect the cost of your cruise by making your airline tickets slightly more expensive.

Although created in 2005, the TSBA continues to be modified and increased, as has been the case in France since March 2025. The catch is that this increase is retroactive and therefore applies to all flights departing from France since March 1, 2025, even for bookings made prior to that date.

As a result, some cruise operators or airlines we work with have absorbed this cost, while others have insisted that we pass it on to our customers. This is what may have led us to inform you of an increase in your cruise fees.
