The island of Flores "Island of Flowers" in French has an area of 141 square kilometers and is home to some 4,000 residents. It is an island of the Azores, an archipelago of Portugal.
With the island of Corvo, it is the western sub-Azores. It is divided into two municipalities: Santa Cruz das Flores in the north and south Lajes das Flores.
