Powell River is a town in British Columbia located in the Strait of Georgia, along the Sunshine Coast (in French: Coast ensolleillée).
The first inhabitants of this region were Native Americans tribes Salish Coast Salish brothers inside.
The City of Powell River had a census of the population of 12,957 inhabitants, a little less than a thousand Franco-Columbians.
Although the city of Powell River is close enough to Vancouver, the city is the county seat of the Regional District of Powell River.
Francophone or bilingual minority enjoys the school system in French Conseil scolaire francophone British Columbia which manages two French schools in Powell River Elementary School Sun Coast High School and Brooks.
