Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a Spanish city located on the island of Tenerife, the most populated of the Canary Islands and Spain, in the Atlantic Ocean island. It is the capital of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and one of the two capitals of the Canary Islands (the second is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
It is located northeast of the island of Tenerife in the Bahía (Bay of Tenerife). This is a city that much depends on the economic sector of tourism, but the industry has also grown, particularly in the areas of chemicals and refining.
Santa Cruz is attached to the city of La Laguna and forms a conurbation with a population of over 400,000 inhabitants. It is the largest urban area of the Canary Islands. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the largest port in Spain and one of the largest ports in the Atlantic Ocean.
