At the bottom of the Gulf of valinco of calm, clear waters, the small port of Propriano is now lively and well equipped for boaters. The beach is nearby.
From this base rental sailboats, you can easily go back to the north and along the west coast and its many bays (60 miles Porto Sagone, Ajaccio at 23 miles), headlands and inlets; this is the most enjoyable side to coasting, especially as coastal shipping is the only way to discover the many often inaccessible from the ground cracks, except the price of a long walk through the bush.
But nothing prevents you either navigate to the South and go to Bonifacio (35 miles) or even further south in Sardinia.
