Is there a life raft?
Updated on: 26/05/2025In France, this is mandatory. Abroad, it depends on the country. For example, in Croatia, life rafts are not required for boats below a certain size and are generally not provided.
A unique feature of Croatia:
The capacity of the life raft may be less than the number of passengers certified to be on board the boat, as the capacity of the dinghy supplements that of the life raft. Example: on a 45-foot monohull certified for 10 people, you might find a life raft for 8 people supplemented by a dinghy for 2 people. This is entirely legal and compliant with regulations in Croatia.
