Fuerteventura, Fuerteventura formerly in French, is an island of Spain located in the Atlantic Ocean and part of the Canary Islands. Second largest island of the archipelago by its size, it is one that is closest to the remote continent of 97 kilometers to the southeast. The island is part of the province of Las Palmas is the capital Puerto del Rosario.
